The Crashing Wave

After a couple days, It was beach day. When Mikayla got to school, everyone was waiting outside for everyone else to show up. Amelia said "Hey. What's up?" Mikayla said "not much, I got a bunch of snacks and candy in my bag if you want any." Amelia said "Cool thanks." Mikayla showed her how much candy she had in her bag and Amelia started laughing. Amelia said "Why did you bring that much?" Mikayla said "I just put it in my bag when cleaning my room one night and I didn't take it out." Amelia and Mikayla both started laughing. After a half hour it was time for everyone to get on the bus and go. Mikayla and Jacob were sitting together on the bus for the way there. Mikayla always falls asleep on any car ride. Although it was sort of impossible this time to fall asleep on the way there, because Jacob and Jason kept leaning over to talk to each other. Mikayla said while laughing "Can you guys stop reaching over me?" Jacob replied laughing "Well I'm sorry I can't poke him if I don't." Mikayla said "Then wait until we get to the beach." Jason said jokingly "You're no fun." Mikayla said laughing "Too bad." When they got to the beach, Everyone went and found a bench to put their stuff down. Mikayla and Amelia went to the bathroom to get their bathing suits on. Mikayla is really self-conscious about herself, so she was worried about her bathing suit even though it covered everything. Amelia saw that Mikayla was worried about her bathing suit and said "Mikayla it's fine, you can't see anything. Your ok." Mikayla said "I know, I just get worried." Amelia said "I know, it's fine." Mikayla put her cover up on and then left the bathroom with Amelia. They went over back to the bench and ate something. After they were done eating, Amelia, Jason, Jacob and Mikayla started walking on the beach. Amelia and Mikayla were joking around and started to splash a little bit of the water at them. After a while Jason, Amelia and Mikayla were trying to get Jacob to go in the water, because he was saying it was probably cold. They were all having fun, but then a teacher came and told Mikayla, Jason, Amelia and Jacob to stop trying to push each other into the water. After that was done, Amelia said to Mikayla "Do you want to go in the water?" Mikayla said "Then I would have to take my cover up off though." Amelia said "Mikayla it's ok, It's all in your head." Mikayla decided she didn't want to let being self conscious get in the way of having fun, so she said "Alright, give me a minute. I'm going to go put the cover up back into my bag." Amelia said "Ok, I'll be in the water." Mikayla walked back up and put her cover up back in her bag. Mikayla walked back down to the water and went up to her waist. Mikayla didn't like going any further to the point where she can't touch the ground. Mikayla always likes to be able to touch the ground in the ocean, because she thinks it's scary not knowing what's at the bottom and she's not the strongest swimmer. Jason said "Guys go underwater." Amelia and Mikayla said "It's freezing." Jason said "So? It's not freezing once you've been under." Amelia and Mikayla looked at each other, Mikayla said "You go first." Amelia said "No way, I'm not going first." Mikayla said "Fine, we'll go at the same time." Amelia said "Ok." Jason said "I'll count, On the count of 3 you'll go under. 1, 2 and 3." Amelia went under and Mikayla didn't go under. After Amelia came back up she said "hey you were suppose to go under." Mikayla said "I tricked you." Amelia splashed her. Mikayla splashed back and said "Ok I'll go under." When a wave came, Mikayla went under and came back up. Amelia said "It's cold isn't it?" Mikayla laughed and said "Yeah, it's freezing." After a while they got out of the water and some went to go eat, some went to go climb on some rocks. Mikayla said to Jacob "Want to go climb on the rocks?" Jacob said "Yeah, but you should put some shoes on first so you don't cut your foot." Mikayla said "Yeah, good idea." Mikayla went over to the bench to get her shoes and then a group of guys along with Amelia started to tease her about a few things and Mikayla got really upset. Mikayla was starting to feel ok in her own skin until that happened, After that Mikayla went to the bathroom and changed back into her regular clothes. Mikayla went over to Jacob and said "Ready to go to the rocks?" Jacob said "Yeah let's go." Mikayla wasn't going to tell a teacher about what happened, because tomorrow she would be graduating and the teachers probably wouldn't have done anything about it. Mikayla didn't like heights a whole lot, so when Mikayla's friends wanted them to go onto a rock that had a long way down, she decided to go back. Jacob said "What's wrong?" Mikayla said "Nothing, I just don't like heights." Jacob said "Ok." They both went back to the bench. Mikayla and Jason were both hungry and went to the store that was there at the beach. Jason said "What are you going to get?" Mikayla said "I don't know." They looked around and got something to eat. After a while, Amelia realized that Mikayla was mad at her. Amelia went over to Mikayla and said "Are you mad at me?" Mikayla said "Yeah kind of." Amelia said "Why?" Mikayla said "You and those group of guys were teasing me." Amelia said "I'm sorry. I did try to stop them after I realized you were upset" Mikayla didn't really believe that, but she said "It's ok." After a few hours, they got back onto the bus and started heading back. Mikayla and Jacob sat together again on the bus, this time they didn't really talk much though. Mikayla was too tired to talk and fell asleep right as the bus started moving. When they got back to the school, Mikayla woke up right as the bus stopped and could feel that she had a sunburn on her face. Mikayla said "I slept the whole way didn't I?" Jacob laughed and said "Yep." Mikayla said "Like always." Everyone got off the bus and Mikayla said goodbye to her friends, Mikayla went outside to her car. This time Mikayla's sister Aria picked her up. Aria said "how was the beach?" Mikayla said "Good, I think I got a sunburn on my face though." Aria said "That sucks." Mikayla said "Yeah, how's Lila?" Aria said "She's good." Mikayla said "That's good." Shortly after that conversation, Mikayla just fell asleep in the car again. Aria drove Mikayla back home to her moms house. Mikayla went into her mom room and said "I'm nervous for graduation tomorrow." Jenny said "Why?" Mikayla said "I'm nervous for my speech, what if I freeze up?" Jenny said "You'll do fine, you won't freeze up." Mikayla said "How do you know that?" Jenny said "I just know." Mikayla said "Ok." After Mikayla was done talking with her mom, she went to bed. Mikayla did want to go to bed a little early, so she wouldn't be tired for tomorrow. When it came to the next day, Mikayla woke up around 10:00 Am. Graduation didn't start until 1:30 PM. Mikayla went and took a shower, got ready, went on the musically App and then went downstairs to watch TV for a little bit until she had to go. When Mikayla's mom got home, she went over and said "Hey." Jenny said "Hey. That sweater doesn't match with that dress." Mikayla said "Yes it does." Jenny said "No it doesn't, I know you think it does but it doesn't." Mikayla took over the sweater and said "Do you have one that matches?" Jenny said "Yes." Mikayla and Jenny both went upstairs and Jenny gave Mikayla the sweater. Mikayla said "Thanks." After a few minutes they left, as they were in the car Mikayla said "I'm nervous, what if I freeze up? Or what if I don't remember what to say?" Jenny said "You'll have your speech in front of you and you won't freeze up. Everything will be fine." Mikayla said "Ok." They got there and were pulling in and Jenny said "Are those kids telling people where to park?" Mikayla said laughing "Yeah, they give everybody something to do." Jenny parked the car and said "Well we are early." Mikayla wanted to get there early to talk to some of her friends before graduation. Mikayla said "I'm going to get out and go talk to people." Jenny said "Alright, I'm going to wait here in the car for a little bit. It's cold outside." Mikayla said "Ok." It was nice outside but a little chilly. Mikayla walked into the school and went to the English room where all her friends were. Mikayla said "Hey, what's up?" Lily said "Hey Mikayla, You ready?" Mikayla said "Yeah, I'm a little nervous." Lily had gone back to what she was doing and Mikayla said "Hey Jacob, Jason." Jacob said "Hey." Mikayla said "I'm going to really miss you guys." Jacob said "We are going to miss you too. That's why we have the attic though." Mikayla said "For the last time your not putting me in the attic." Jason said "We know that, but we are going to really miss you." Mikayla said "I know, I'll miss you guys too." Ava one of Mikayla's old gym teachers from the 10th grade showed up. Mikayla didn't really get along with Ava, they often argued with each other through half of the 10th grade. Mikayla turned around and gave Ava a hug though and said "Hey. What's up?" Ava said "Not much, are you excited?" Mikayla said "Yes. I'm so excited." Ava said "That's good." Then Mikayla turned around and started talking with Jason again. Mikayla noticed that Ava had left. Jason said "Are you nervous?" Mikayla said "So nervous." Jason said "It will be ok." Mikayla said "I should go and say hi to some other people. I'll talk to you later." Jason said "Ok by sis." Jason thought of Mikayla like an older sister, so whenever Mikayla would leave somewhere he would call her sis. Mikayla gave Jason and Jacob a hug then left. Mikayla went outside and saw that Noah was there, Mikayla went up to Noah and said "Hey Noah." Noah said "Hey, Mikayla. How are you?" Mikayla said "Good, I'm nervous though." Noah said "That's normal. Just don't mess up." Mikayla laughed and said "Thanks Noah, No pressure." Noah said "You'll do fine." Mikayla said "Thanks." Mikayla saw her dad Derek, her sister Aria and her niece Lila, she went up to them and said "Hey." Mikayla gave her dad a hug and then gave a big hug to Lila. Derek said "Hey, how you doing?" Mikayla said "good." Derek went over to Noah and said "Hey, What's up?" Noah said "Not much, how are you?" Derek said "Good, hey thanks for everything you've done." Noah said "Not a problem." After that Derek, Aria and Lila went and took a seat next to Jenny. Lila said "I'm hungry." Mikayla said "After graduation, you can get something to eat from the tent." Lila said "Ok." Jackson Mikayla's step-father got there and Mikayla said "Hey." Jackson said "Hey, how's it going?" Mikayla said "Good and nervous. It's getting close to the time, so I should probably head downstairs." Jenny said "Ok, see you in a bit." Mikayla headed downstairs and everyone was told to line up, When the music started playing outside everyone started walking out. Everyone stopped for a minute and then started walking again over to the chairs, Mikayla was trying to hold in tears already. Once everybody sat down, the music stopped. After they all handed out the paper awards, they got the speeches. Each one did their speech and then it came to Mikayla who wasn't the last one but there was one more person after her. Mikayla got up and took a deep breath. Mikayla was going to look at every person she was talking about when she came to them. Mikayla started to speak and said "Welcome people, thank you for coming. When I first came to Knightfall I had trouble adjusting. It was my first time at a new school. I didn't know anyone very well. All the teachers here and students helped me get through it. Although I had tough times here at Knightfall, I also had a lot of great times here too. Through all the years I made some really great friends that I could count on and have fun with. Here are some people I would like to thank."
