Hm... I wonder what's going on with Mother. She seems to be taking an extremely long time to return.

Could it possibly be that a human has fallen down...?

No way... That's...

... Well, I guess it isn't impossible, but still.

I hope it isn't the case.

After a while of reading through today's schoolwork, I heard the front door open.

Excited, I hurried to the front door to see Mother and...

... A human.

"I'm back (y/n). And I have a little someone with me. Chara, this is (y/n). (y/n), this is Chara." Mother said.

I held my paw out.

"It's nice to meet you Chara. As Mother already said, I'm (y/n)."

Chara didn't take it. She didn't move. Didn't smile.

... Okay...

"Don't worry (y/n). Chara's just a little bit exhausted from all of the puzzles and just needs a little nap. I'll be right back." Mother explained before leading Chara down the hall.

Toriel

As much as I'd hate to believe it... This child... Somehow... They have a demonic presence to them.

"You can sleep here while I go make the cinnamon butterscotch pie." I explained while leading Chara to the spare bed in (y/n)'s room.

As I looked closer at Chara, I noticed that there was some white chalky-like powder on her hands.

... No... She...

... I need to keep calm and make sure this human doesn't hurt (y/n)...

"I want to go home." Chara whispered.

"What're you talking about? This is your home now." I explained.

Chara then showed the first sign of emotion since I met her.

She frowned.

"Not for long. Goodnight." Chara said before laying in bed and quickly falling asleep.

Her words worried her.

... Not for long...

What could that mean? Does she intend to...?!

I then exited the room and hurried to the kitchen, where (y/n) was washing her dishes.

... She truly is the perfect child...

"(y/n), may I talk to you for a moment?" I questioned.

"Sure. What's up?" (y/n) asked while turning to me.

I hate to do this to my only daughter... But I have no choice...

"You need to leave the ruins."

(y/n)

Mother's words confused me.

"What do you mean I need to leave the ruins? What about keeping Chara safe?" I questioned.

"I don't think it's a matter of keeping Chara safe. I think it's a matter of keeping us safe." Mother explained.

"I'm still confused."

"I'm not surprised. All the humans that have fallen down beforehand have been sweet and innocent souls. But not this one. This one's a killer." Mother explained.

"Chara... She..."

"I saw her hands covered in the souls of the monsters she's already killed. I don't want her to get to you. That's why I need you to leave the ruins and find help." Mother explained.

I can't believe it... Sure, humans can be a bit unpredictable... But I don't believe that they'd ever kill...

"I can see it in your eyes that you don't believe me. But you need to trust me. I have a friend outside of the ruins that you can go to. Just tell them that Toriel sent you." Mother explained.

"I won't leave you! Even if I'm not much of a fighter, I can help!" I exclaimed.

Mother frowned.

"You are a precious one, (y/n). But I need you to leave."

"I won't-"

"Please! Do this for me, (y/n)! I don't want you to die!" Mother explained, fresh tears falling down her face.

Tears started to fall down my face as well.

"Fine. I'll go. But I'll be back. Please... Promise me that you'll be alive when I come back."

Mother smiled weakly.

"Of course, I promise. Now, let's get you ready to go."

Mother then helped me set up a backpack full of everything I could need for the trip to visit this friend of Mother's.

"Mother, who is this friend of yours? How can I find them if I don't know their name?" I questioned.

"You're absolutely correct. His name's 'Sans'." Mother answered.

"I think I've heard that name before... He's the one who liked to tell you bad puns if I remember correctly! Am I right?"

Mother laughed.

"You sure are. He said he lives in Snowdin. Shouldn't be too hard to find if I remember what he told me about it." Mother explained.

"Okay. Well, if looks like I'm ready to go." I sadly said.

"You sure are. Good luck." Mother said before giving me a hug and kissing my forehead.

I hugged back, as more tears fell down my face.

"Well... Here I go..."

I then headed to the exit of the ruins, not wanting to look back at my mother's crying form.

Please... Be safe... Mother....

Toriel

It pains me so much to see my only child leave me. But it's for the best. I know I won't survive Chara's attack when she decides to strike. I can't bring it in me to attack a child. Even if they are full of evil intentions.

... And that's why once (y/n) leaves...

... I'm going to block the exit to the ruins...

... For good...
