"yes, vividly. i think of it every day castiel. best thing that's happened so far i guess." he said, pulling his white covered knees to his upper chest, his feet resting on the tops of the roof as the two stargazed.
"honestly, it was probably for the best." she said.
"well, the big guy knows what's right, right?" he asked. this made castiel laugh yellow. remembering her mother say that god knows what would happen in the future, and that only he knew.
"yes, my mother told me that. gosh, i wonder how she is." she said, giggling at the thought. her mother. what a witchy woman. she'd get into heaven somehow. knowing her, she'd get into there even after everything.
"probably sorry." seth said. castiel shook her head. knowing she'd be blaming her for it all.
"no, she wouldn't be. she'd blame me and my father would be crying as she said it, knowing the truth. it's how it always was. she always said i'd go to hell." she said, still staring into the moon. it's light making her piercing green eyes glow in the dark like the stars did for josh, who was in the room below her, asleep.
"well, technically, you didn't go to hell. you were just made into a demon to help the haunted. bring the runaways back." seth said, she shrugged, knowing it was the truth.
"yeah, but my own flew into tyler that day. they won. that's why i'm here." she said, seth always forgot that part. that she was the reason for her death because the demons won. so they went onto tyler at a young age and she had to try and pry them away from him as one. just one that'd never haunt anyone.
"you know, i wasn't really supposed to be an angel." seth said, castiel looked at him surprised. as if her were nuts, considering he was the most pastel blue, fresh snowy power in b-mior chords, marshmallow person she'd ever met.
"you were a miscarriage, there's no way of them knowing, so they assigned you to the one person who needed an angel as soon as possible. even if it was before that crash." castiel explained, seth nodded at that, knowing that's how it had ended up. he was at his funeral.
"and you were a suicide victim." he said. castiel nodded, knowing her sin. how she would've went to heaven, if it weren't for her attitude of wanting to help others with the demons she lost the battle to.
"very different things, but somehow, here we are." she said, seth nodded. thinking about his parents the last time he saw him.
"do you think your sister still talks about you castiel?" seth asked, castiel chuckled at the thought of her sister, who'd be thirteen now. and her baby sister, who would be eight. but the eleven year old, angelina, loved her to death. considering rose lived with their father for the better.
"maybe, last time i saw her was months ago. she looked happy, but she had tired eyes." castiel explained, seth nodded, understanding it. those were the eyes tyler had, only maybe it was a different type of tired. the eyes of grey, translucent as you watch the colors. for her sister it was a light, safe hazel. not mocha though. that belonged to josh and only josh.
"wanna go check on her, we have time. the moon has only just risen." seth offered, castiel smiled at him, nodding. she took his hand, as he closed his eyes, and they suddenly appeared in a bedroom.
the walls were white, a yellow bedspread, a poster of a band called "Green Day" that somehow matched the yellow and white aesthetic. the rug was yellow, and so were the accented things. like the chair and lamp. but the furniture was all white, and angelina was in bed, reading a book titled, Love Letters to the Dead. Her eyes behind black framed glasses, in plaid pajamas and a extra-large tainted red hood over her small frame.
