Dave is next.

“Aren’t you guys a little too old to be playing with water guns?” He replies, rubbing his eyes.

We shrug and go into the kid’s room.

There is more than enough water for them and we use the rest on them. They were completely soaked by the time we were done with them.

“Mommy, Daddy!” They squealed, getting up to hug us.

“No, I don’t want to get wet!” Alice whined, as they attacked her.

I quickly gathered Alice, Alex and Alec into my arms, getting myself wet in the process.

I carried them all downstairs, without letting them go.

“Nathan! Daddy!” They whined as I laughed.

“Did everyone like their wake up calls?” Alice smiled as our family turned towards us.

“Where did you get the idea to wake everyone up like that?” Mom asked.

Alice shrugged as she and the kids went to sit down with the family.

We all ate in relative silence until our parents broke it.

“Nathan, Alice.” Mom addressed us.

Our heads shot up. Alice had concern in her eyes immediately. I shook my head, taking hold of her hand under the table. I shook my head at her, telling her to relax.

“We have a meeting tomorrow that we can’t do over the computer. We have to fly out to New York, to work this out.” She informed everyone.

We all nodded, knowing that sometimes they had to fly out to New York to deal with the problems. I sighed. I thought I had dealt with everything.

“You two need to take care of these four.” Dad ordered us.

“Hey! I can take care of myself!” Kate interjected.

“You can take of you and David but can you handle Alex and Alec?” Mom said, reminding them of what happened while I was at the hospital.

Kate and David shuttered while Alex and Alec smiled, not apologetically. Alice gave them a stare and they looked down.

“Usually they’re not so much trouble. I’m sorry that they caused that much trouble to begin with.” Alice tried to intervene on their behalf.

“Oh we know Alice. I’m just proving a point here.” Mom smiled at us.

“When are you leaving and when are you coming back?” I asked, getting down to business.

“We’ll be leaving today at about 1:30 and our flight is at 3:30. We’ll land at about 7:30 or 8. We’ll be back at the end of the week at most.” Mom replies, looking at the piece of paper, her ticket.

I nod. The table is silent for the most part until breakfast is over. Alice and I put the water guns back. Mom and Dad get ready for their flight. Kate and Dave go get ready. The kids are here in the kitchen watching us clean up.

As soon as I’m done, I kneel down in front of the kids, their attention on me.

“So, what do you want to do today?” I ask them.

“I want to play in the water.” Alec says.

“I want to go to the park.” Alex says.

Conflict, I see. Alice comes around and notices the dilemma.

“Well I was thinking combine their ideas to go the water park, but its close. The pool doesn’t open for another month. I also need to go grocery shopping. I just took inventory of the fridge.” She bit her lip.

I wrapped my arms around her waist, pulling her towards me instantly.

“You need to stop worrying.” I took her bottom lip in between mine and sucked.

The groan that came out her was very satisfying. I smiled at her, as she tried to get her bearings back. She was blushing tomato red and I wanted to do again, just cause the same reaction from her again.

“So what do we do?” Alice asked.

“We happen to have an indoor pool. Kate and Dave will watch over them and we can go get the groceries and come back in no time. How does that sound?” I asked.

“Perfect.” She smiled, pressing her face into my neck.

We picked the kids up and went to their room. Alice dresses Alex into a nice swim suit and I got Alec into his swim trunks. Once they were dressed we took them to Kate’s room.

“Kate, do you mind watching the kids as they swim in the pool?” I asked.

She looked up shocked.

“Even with what happened last time I took care of them?” Kate asked.

“That wasn’t your fault Kate. I still trust you, more now than I did before that.” Alice said.

Kate hugged Alice so hard she had to hand me Alex, who was in her arms at the time.

“Thank you so much! I won’t let you down! I promise.” She tightened her grip on Alice.

“Ok, Nathan and I are going to do the groceries. Do you mind taking care of Dave too?” I asked.

“Sure, no problem, I got this.” She took the kids into Dave’s room to explain what was going on.

I took Alice’s hand and we went out to the garage, with all of our cars. As we entered, Alice shook her head.

“What? Pick a car and we’ll go.” I told her.

“I don’t care what care. I’m just surprised you have so many.” She said, shocked.

“You are talking to the President of Masters Corp.” I smiled at my lovely Alice.

I opened the door to one of our less bold cars, for Alice. She smiled as she got in. I kissed her forehead before coming around to the driver’s side.

Everything seemed normal today. I don’t think we had a normal day in awhile. It was sort of nice.
