Dear reader,
Hello, My name is Valerie, and I'm the author of the book you are about to read. Over the past couple of years I have been a silent reader on wattpad and have consumed story after story daily. I love the rush I experienced whenever one of my favorite books was updated, and more importantly I loved supporting those who had the courage to share their stories and talents.
I by no means am an amazing writer, but I do think I'm decent and because of that and the gnawing gut feeling deep inside me that is telling me to tell this story, I'm going to share my baby with you.
This book is not perfect, it will have grammatical errors and characters that say and do things you may not personally agree with. This book will talk about race and how an African American teenage girl experiences life in a predominantly white environment. The things she says, and the things other characters in this book will say/do, is not an attack on you or how you live your life.
What I hope comes out of you reading this book, is that maybe you see people/the world differently. That's all I can hope for.
Anyway, this is a long author's note, but it had to be done.
I hope you enjoy the book and love it as much as I do.
