chapter fourteen

it was saturday, and veronica was going to see jack again. daisy was actually tagging along, since she wanted to meet this 'jack' character that was dating her new best friend. since they had met, they became really close over the short eight days that they had become roommates.

"hurry up, daisy!" veronica yelled into the bathroom, "we're gonna be late!" daisy had been getting ready for thirty minutes, and veronica was getting impatient. 

"calm your tits, holmesy. i'm coming," daisy said, turning off the light in the bathroom and walking into the bedroom. 

"okay, now hurry up. they're almost there and we still have to get an uber," veronica said. they were meeting the boys at an arcade downtown, since all of them liked video games and they though it would be fun. daisy hurriedly grabbed her stuff while veronica was ordering the uber. by the time they were both ready, the uber was there, so they went downstairs to the lobby and got into the uber, which was parked outside of their dorm.

veronica told the driver the address, so the woman started driving the twenty minutes it took to get to the arcade.  the drive went moderately fast, since there was very minimal traffic. once they arrived, veronica paid the driver, then they got out, immediately being met by five teenage boys at the front of the building.

"yo, waddup. it's ya boi daisy in da house," daisy said, jumping up in the air and landing into a couching position.

"well she's quite the character," jonah mumbled to zach, who nodded in agreement.

"guys, this is daisy, my roommate. daisy, these are jonah, corbyn, jack, zach, and daniel," veronica introduced, then walked up to jack, wanting to spend some quality time with him. he smiled as he wrapped his arms around the girl, happy to have his girlfriend in his grasp again, after a long eight days of not seeing her.

"i wanna go hang out, just us," jack said quietly, so only veronica could hear him. he wanted to have alone time with his girlfriend before he had to wait another week for the weekend to come to hang out with her again.

"what about daisy?" veronica asked, not wanting her friend to feel uncomfortable while hanging out with four guys that she barely knew.

"i think she's fine. look over there." jack pointed in the other direction. veronica turned her head and noticed that daisy had already started to become comfortable with the boys, maybe even a bit too comfortable. daisy was riding around on jonah's back, ordering him to be her chauffeur. jonah didn't seem to mind, though. he was laughing really hard with large smile placed on his face while carrying her around.

"yep, let's go," veronica giggled, taking jack's hand. they both walked into the arcade and went over to the games. the first game they played was a game where you had to shoot the aliens before they reached your castle. if the aliens destroyed your castle before they destroyed your opponent's castle, then your opponent wins. 

"you're going down, avery," veronica warned, eyeing jack.

jack smirked and said, "we'll see about that, roni." jack put a few quarters into the machine and the game started up. at first, the aliens would only come in small groups, making them easy to kill. but slowly, the groups started coming in faster and becoming larger, making them more difficult. veronica's castle took a small blow, but she realized jack had taken an even bigger one.

they continued to shoot the aliens until the mobs got too big and finally, jack's castle got demolished. veronica laughed in victory as jack pouted, disappointed in himself for losing. veronica grabbed the tickets that dispensed from the game and put them in her bag, before they went off to find some more games to play.

by the time the day was over, veronica and jack had gone to find everyone so they could all go home. they ended up finding daisy and jonah together at skee ball, then corbyn, zach, and daniel together at the go-karts. 

they all said goodbye and parted ways, daisy and veronica going back to ucla, and the boys going back their house in beverly hills.

it was a good day.
