"Crap, I'm going to be late," you groaned, glancing down at the time in your car periodically as the honks can be heard coming from every car on the road. The traffic was extra busy today, causing multiple delays to occur on the major roads. Your grip on the steering wheel slightly tightened in frustration while your head was moving from side to side to see if there were any alternatives than this direction. Squinting your eyes to focus on further down the road, you noticed another path that came into view.
At this point in the traffic, there was no time to waste.
"Let's take the extra long way." You waited for another 5 minutes, seeing the rarely used path come closer and closer into your view. Looking at all of the mirrors and turning on your turn signal, you gave the other nearby drivers a nervous wave of thanks as you heard multiple groans while you cut into their lanes. Finally turning into the very last lane on the far right side, you drove a little further down before seeing the rocky path come into your path.
"Here goes nothing," you shuddered, turning the car to the right and driving down the bumpy road as you felt the whole car begin to vibrate. With the car still vibrating from the very rocky ground, your gripped on the steering wheel tighten as you were determined to get to the cafe, despite this path being the longest way there.
"You're late," a voice groaned as you were approaching the small table in the corner of the cafe. Looking down, you watched Krystal narrowing her eyes in your direction while she drank her hot chai tea. Knowing that you were the last one to arrive at the sudden meeting, you could only give them an apologetic look before pulling out a chair from the table to sit down.
"I'm so sorry I'm late. My roommate had a friend over so I was getting to know them," you apologized with a sigh, quickly reaching into your bag to pull out the files. But with the mention of your roommate, your other friend Joy, perked her head up in excitement.
"Wait you got a new roommate already? Yoonji right? How is she?" Joy leaned forward, asking you one question after the other. Your eyes slightly widened, remembering that you've told everyone your new roommate was a girl. If they were to find out that it was a male, then they would never live it down for you.
"Funny story," you chuckled, feeling the sweat begin to pool under your jean jacket as you looked up to see Krystal and Joy looking at you with intensity to continue.
"She isn't a she. It turns out, she is a he." After the mention of your roommate being a male, you looked up to see Joy and Krystal giving you a look of surprise before their smiles turned into mischievous smirks.
"A boy you say?" Krystal teased, sipping her tea as you began to feel your face slightly heat up. You gave her a slight nod before hearing Joy speak up.
"Well, I hope you can finally use this to your advantage." Your eyes widened, knowing all too well what she meant.
"Joy, I would never do that-" you saw her raise a hand to your face, giving you a smirking tease before pulling out her own files.
