A young girl, two young men, and one more older man, were all standing on the surface of the moon Kerberos. Key word : WERE. They have been captured by the Galra, and are now split into cells. The only two that are still together in a cell are the girl and one of the young men. They had been changed from their spacesuits into black and purple clothes. The girl's hair tumbled down her back (you have long hair rn, if you want shorter hair or have shorter hair, the opportunity will arise). Her friend stared at her. "Matt.." her voice came out a mere whisper. "Will we ever see our family again? What will they do with us??" She asked. The young boy, Matt, sighed. "To be honest, (y/n), I really don't know. But right now we have each other in this small cell, and we'll make the best out of it. We are best buddies, after all!" He smiled and she leaned into him. The two humans huddled in the corner of the cell, cuddling into each other.

A few hours had passed, and the two were rudely awakened from their light slumber by the door to their cell slamming open. (Y/n) jumped and stared at the large Galra soldier. He beckoned for the two to stand and follow him. They were led into the stands of an arena, and saw a large... galra?? Creature?? (Y/n) looked at Matt and blinked in confusion. "What is this?" She whispered. "I have no idea.. but I think we'll find out soon.." he muttered back. Her stare turned back to the creature, and a small.. alien walked out and stared at the creature. It seemed so scared. The galra raised his weapon, the ball of light being shot out and hit the alien, who didn't even attempt to move. It was dead. Blood was splattered on the ground from where the alien once stood. The body was gone. The creature bellowed, and the scared aliens clapped in the stands, galra soldiers standing among them. The girl turned and looked around, spotting Shiro, and then Mr. Holt. "Matthew! Look! It's your dad and Shiro!" She whisper-yelled. The boy turned to where she pointed, and smiled. "At least they're okay." He grabbed her hand and held it, looking back to the horrific fights being held in the arena.

The rest of the days were the same. Days turned to weeks. It had been at least two months since the two had been in that jail, and they were being picked up for another arena fight, but this time there were two guards. One took Matt, and the other took (y/n). She stared at him with tear-filled eyes as he was taken to the stands and she was pushed into line. The rest of the aliens stared at her. She was the shortest in line and was clearly the weakest. One alien, taking pity, gripped his weapon hard in his hands. "I understand you're scared, but this will help you." She blinked in confusion. Meanwhile, Matt was horrified. What would happen to his best friend?? He sat and stared at the monster, who was already fighting the first alien. His mind just couldn't get off his best friend.. Who, right now, was fighting the same alien. "What's your issue?" She yelled. He sighed and told her, "When you're hurt, you're disqualified. Just let me help you!" He all of a sudden was pulled by another alien, which caused him to cut her leg.. deep. He gasped. "I'm sorry! I never meant for it to go so deep! I just needed to gash your thigh enough to get you disqualified!" She let out a bloodcurdling screech, which had reached her best friend, who got up and was about to run to the noise, before he was grabbed and forced to sit back down by an alien. "If you go after her now, you'll be killed." He started to cry. "Please be ok.."

The alien that attacked (y/n) was forced to fight, and died. (Y/n) left and her leg had to be amputated. The cut was too deep. She was thrown back into the cell with Matt after she was given a basic prosthetic leg. He stared at her. "You're okay!" He yelled and pulled her in for a hug, crying tears of joy. She was quiet, however, and just wrapped her arms around his thin torso. "I'm sorry, I would've gone to help you.. but I would've been killed." He whispered. She simply nodded and fell asleep in his arms, his tears dripping into her hair. He soon fell asleep with her. From then on, she was disqualified from every fight after that. It had been four or five more months, making it more than half a year they'd been in that dumb prison. Two guards showed up at the door again, but this time they knew it was Matt's turn. "I... I love you, (y/n)." Is what Matt whispered before he was thrown in line. (Y/n) sat in the stands. "I hope someone saves him like he saved me.." she thought, and turned to look at where Shiro should be. He was gone. "Oh shit." She said, out loud this time. Matt blinked and stared at Shiro. The two men hugged. "Oh, Shiro! Oh my god! It's been.. seven months.." Matt began to hyperventilate. Shiro calmed him down. "Matt, you'll be first. Do you know any way to stop this fight? I know (y/n) was in line and she was disqualified. How?" He asked. Matt blinked and then recalled her story. "Oh! She was attacked and injured by an alien, he got her disqualified for being injured." The smaller boy told Shiro. The Japanese man nodded and turned to the guard in front of him, taking his weapon and quickly knocked Matt down, cutting his leg. "I'm so bloodthirsty! I need to fight!" He yelled. Matt was completely in shock, staring at Shiro with tears pricking his eyes. "I'm sorry, Matt.." is the last thing Matt heard before he was taken away and Shiro was forced to fight.

Matt and (y/n) sat in their cell again. Matt had a matching prosthetic with (y/n). He didn't need it, but they felt the need to operate on him too since it would save them the time of dealing with his healing period. Shiro has been the only person to ever win against the monster, and the two were relieved he had lived. A new creature was appointed to fight, one scarier and bigger than the last. It had been 5 more months, and they hadn't seen Shiro in the stands for a few days. The news spread of a prisoner escape, but they didn't know who. "I really hope it was Shiro." Is the only thought the two shared in their last few months in that prison. Not like they'd know that it was their last few months, anyways.
