Phoenix Drop High x Reader

I walked beside Garroth as we left gym class. The day was officially over and the weekend is beginning. I never got a text back from my parents. I guess they must be really busy. Before Garroth and I split up to go to our lockers I grabbed his hand and pulled him back towards me.

   " Garroth wait. "

He came back towards me, but he didn't let go of my hand. Strange.

   " I was gonna say. Good luck tonight. I heard you have a baseball game. "

   " Thanks, Y/n. Means a lot coming from you. "

   " Well, I'll see you later Garroth. Again good luck. "

He leaned down and pressed his lips against the skin on my hand with a smile on his face.

   " Until we meet again. "

Then he walked away leaving me standing there stunned. I eventually shook the feeling off and walked towards my locker. When I got there I saw Laurence standing there looking at me. 

   " Hey, Laurence. "

   " Hey, Y/n. Man, he is a real prince charming. "

   " You can say that again. "

He smiled at me as I put my books. This time Laurence walked me home. We talked about a lot of things. I asked him how he and Garroth met and he gave me the whole description not leaving any detail out. Once we got to my house I walked inside waving goodbye to Laurence. I went upstairs and saw that it was 3:23. I have time. I went to go change clothes.

I did anything else I needed to and walked back to the living room. I sat on the couch and started watching another episode of Gravity Falls. It started getting a little darker and I checked the time. It was 5:30.

   ' I better get a good seat so I can watch the game. '

I got up and walked out of the house locking the door behind me. I started walking back to the high school. When I got there I saw a lot of cars pulled up to the entrance. I walked to the baseball field and sat on the bleachers. The stadium was getting packed. There were people crowding around the side of the field to watch. I saw most of the school here. Then they started playing music and the baseball players came out. I looked and found Garroth. He was leading the group of boys.

   ' I hope this goes well. '

( Time Skip )

I was on the edge of my seat. The game was tied and we were at the 9th inning. We were batting while the opposing team was in the outfield. We weren't doing good in the outfield. We had two guys out already. If one more person gets a strike then the teams will switch sides. We needed to bat. If they bat they will win.

   ' Who's up next? '

I also had a bag of popcorn in my hand. I was getting a little hungry so I went and got a bag. It was halfway gone by now. 

   " The next batter is Garroth Ro'Meave. "

The crowd erupted in cheers. Garroth was a good batter. I saw a group of people that cheered for him the loudest. The tallest guy kind of looked like Garroth except he had a beard. 

   " Strike! "

I looked back at the game and saw that he had one strike. the crowd booed him as the pitcher threw a fastball at Garroth.

   " Strike! One more and their team will switch sides. "

Garroth looked worried. The pitcher was about to throw it again when I guy left the pit and walked over to Garroth pausing the game. He gave Garroth water and walked back to the pit. Everyone booed him. Until I spoke up.

   " You got this Garroth! "

He looked in my direction and saw me. His frown turned into a smile. He turned back to the pitcher and got in position. Then as another fastball came towards Garroth. This time he didn't get a strike. He hit the ball. 

   " Homerun! " the announcer shouted.

Garroth started running around all the bases. Everyone cheered as he ran. I leaned against the railing as he ran. When he ran by third he started running to home plate. As he ran he looked at me and smiled. I smiled back at him. After that, we won the game. The team picked Garroth up and started carrying him down to the pit. His body almost hit the top of the stand where I was.

   " And the Phoenixes win the game. They will be excelling into the next game. Against the Mighty Foxes. "

I left the stand with my bag of popcorn. I knew Garroth would want to see me so I waited outside the concession stand for him. He texted me asking where I was at and I told him. In seconds he found me.

   " Y/n!"

He ran at me and gave me a hug which I gladly returned. When we pulled away a bright smile decorated his lips.

   " I didn't know you were coming. "

   "  I thought I would surprise you. You did a good job out there. "

   " Thanks, but I don't think I could have done it without you cheering me on. " He said as he took some popcorn from my bag.

   " It means a lot to me that you could come Y/n. Thank you so much. "

   " Anytime Garroth. I enjoyed it. "

   " Good. Would you mind if I take you out for a treat? Icecream? As a celebratory. "

   " Sure. "

We started walking away. He called a taxi and we started heading to the frozen yogurt place.
