Hiccup's POV
Once it's morning, after I draw a sketch of the teens coming away from the explosion in the last raid (they look awesome, I must add), I head back for The Cove early instead of going after training.

On my way I grab a basket of fish from the fishing huts at the docks and the prosthetic tail fin from the forge.
Well.....no one was around at the docks so I couldn't pay.....so technically that means I stole it...Oops?

"Hey, Toothless!" I sing, entering The Cove.
"I bought breakfast. I hope..I hope your hungry!" I tip over the basket, grunting as I do so.

"Well okay, that's disgusting! Uh... We've got some salmon, some nice Iceland cod, and a whole smoked eel!" I say, Toothless sniffs the fish but roars in fear at the sight of the eel as I hold it up.

"No, no, no, no! No! It's okay. Yeah, I don't really like eel much either!" I assure him, throwing the eel away.
He's afraid of Eels. I wonder why?

Toothless calms down starts to eat the fish noisily. While he's distracted, I take this chance to sneak toward his tail.

"Okay. That's it. That's it, just stick with good stuff. And don't you mind me. I'll just be back here... Ya know, minding my own business." I say casually as I go.

I lay the fin close to his real one, ready to attach it. It is the perfect size! So, my memory is good then!

But the tail shifts when I push the prosthetic fin next to Toothless' real one as he eats, meaning I can't strap on the prosthetic. I try again. But it doesn't work. He keeps moving it.
Damn it stay still!

"It's okay. Okay... okay... There. That's not too bad. It works!" I say to myself, admiring my handy work after I sit on the tail so it doesn't move, strapping the fin on.

Suddenly I hear a slight rustle and the next thing I know, I'm in the air clinging to Toothless' tail.
Toothless flies high but then starts to dip down.
"Whoa! No! No! No!" I cry, the wall coming up quickly.
OH MY GODS!
I quickly adjust the tail fin with my hands and so we dodge the wall successfully. We fly out and up to the sky.

I use the tail fin to steer us back to the cove, cheering, "OH, MY-- IT'S WORKING! YES! YES, I DID IT!" as I do.

Toothless seems to realise that I am on his tail for the first time and not long after I tumble off as he does a sharp left  turn. Unable to steer the fin on his own, he then crashes into the lake next to me.

"AAAAAGGGGHHHHH! Yeah!" I cheer.
Yes! I did it! I did it! Another successful invention! And this one does good! I mean, it's gonna need some more work, but still! I think this has been my most successful invention, EVER!

I drag myself out of the water. Toothless examines his tail fin, then looks at me as if to say "Whoa!".
And it does good!
I smile, then realise the time. I eye the eel.
"....bye Toothless!"
I head for the Arena.

++++++
The arena fills with greenish fog. A dragon is somewhere in it.
Unfortunately.
My mood is certainty not what it was with Toothless.

"Today, is about teamwork. Now, a wet dragon head can't light its fire. The Hideous Zippleback is extra tricky!" Gobber starts. "One head breathes gas, the other head lights it. Your job is to know which is which!"
Gobber adds. I'm back-to-back with Fishlegs as we spin slowly, a green fog filling the area.

"Razor sharp, serrated teeth that inject venom for pre-digestion. Prefers ambush attack, by crushing its victims--" he says before I cut in.
Not.helping.
On edge I say: "Will you please stop that?!"
