~A heart can mend with a little Kindness~
It's been a month.
You've been preoccupied working at the farm where your family owned a meat company by slaughtering cattle. Your parent's may own it, but you and your brother run it. An agreement made together. Their years of struggles to reach the top has arrived leaving them a chance to retire. You focused on counting and caring for the animals while your brother did finances. It can be quite stressful, but otherwise it's not as bad with the hand lent from your cousins.
Today, is an off day. Vanessa had gone to visit her parents house.
They were always doing something and even though you were invited, you opt not to go to avoid socializing. It's always awkward having to speak another language you're not well accustomed to.Bored out of your mind, you spun in your computer chair trying to figure out what to do. Your options were video games, drawing or writing of which you have currently been struck by a block, but you were eager to write more if your body didn't refuse to cooperate.
A sigh protrudes, thinking about her. She often haunts your dreams even while doing your damnedest to forget. You've cut off social media to avoid updates. It isn't healthy for you hang on, but part of you yearns for her to make a come back like she has done in the past.
A text from Lyn disrupts your train of thought. You thank the universe for her impeccable timing.
Lyn: Hey~
Lyn: what are you up to?
You: Nothing
You: just moping
Lyn: Again? I thought you were over her?
You: Working on it
Lyn: Well, you have plans now. Come with me. It's my brother, Thatch's birthday and everyone gets to bring a plus one. I'm bringing you.
You: Uh...
Lyn: Don't give me excuses. Come on! Pleeeaaassseee?
You hum in thought. You really couldn't resist her especially when she says the magic word 'please'.
You: Ok
Lyn: Yay! I'm outside so whenever you're ready.
You: What the hell? How long have you been there?
Lyn: Just now. Hahaha
"Unbelievable." You scoffed.
________________________________You rode through the country side and came upon a two-story, cabin home fenced by hedges. "Whoa." Is the first thing you said.
"Welcome to my house." Lyn announced, proudly gesturing you to behold her house.
"Fancy." You complimented, stepping out of the car. "What do you guys do to get something like this?"
Unbothered, Lyn replies, "my dad owns a security company ran by his children."
"Oh, similar to my situation." You commented. "Interesting. I feel safe just being with you." You jested. "How many of you are there?" The brunette looks up in thought with parted lips giving you a chance to scan the garden.
"In total we are six. Me included." You're impressed by the numbers as she resumes, "Thatch is the eldest. Then there's Marco who's practically my twin since the orphanage days, me, and then Ace whom you met, and his twin Sabo. They're both the same age and our youngest is Luffy. He's hard to miss."
