It's been three weeks since Ace has settled down, though he still remained pissed over the relationship between you and Sabo. While uneasy, he managed to find a place to vent his frustration with the hell of Marco who preoccupied him with maintaining the bar. He connected with his customers who drank their sorrows away. Each day gave the man a new perspective as he provided context of his situation. Every answer was the same to let go, or gain closure. So one afternoon, Ace chose to visit you.
He waits in his car, parked on the curb of your home before you head out to work. As the clock struck noon, you trot out with your messenger bag and immediately recognize Ace's car. The bright color of his fancy vehicle makes him stick out like a sore thumb. You groan dreading the upcoming conversation as he approaches you. You do, however, admire his persistence. No one has bothered to follow-up when you're the one trying to fix things.
"Hello, Ace." You grumbled. "What do you want?"
Hearing you greet him in a distasteful manner stings the raven-haired man. He was used to your cheery voice, and now that you're no longer crushing on him, he realizes how much he took you for granted. "Hey, I came for a chance to explain myself on why I pushed you away."
"Really? Now? It's not a good time. I'm late for work." You said as you hop into your car.
"I know, but it will be quick." He pleaded.
"No es no, Ace. Just because you don't have a job doesn't mean I have to miss mine." You turn the ignition on and slowly back out of the driveway with the brute still attached to your window.
"Fair, but if you leave, I'll just wait here until you hear me out."
"Do it, and I'll call the cops on you for trespassing." You taunted.
"Go for it. I'll take it as a challenge." He smirked seeing right through your bluff. You continue onward to the main road annoyed by his arrogance.
______________________________________As promised, Ace loitered for a couple of hours when Vanessa arrived to find the man sitting on the steps of the porch. You warned her ahead of time of his presence. "Dude, seriously?" She started in a disappointed tone. "What are you doing here after (Y/n) told you to get bent?"
"I'm not trying to cause trouble. I just need to talk to her, alright?" He replied.
Vanessa puts her guard up by crossing her arms over her chest. "In regards to what? That you mislead her, or the fact that you made her cry?"
Learning about pain he inflicted upon you, consumes the man with great conviction. It was never his intention to harm you. "No offense, but it's none of your business."
Your roommate shrugs then passes by, but not without heeding him, "She's going to say no, so you might as well give up before I call the authorities."
As she jiggles the lock, Ace let's out a heavy sigh. "I love her, ya know." She stops further movements to listen. "I also know how she is. She is stubborn, yet desires closure. She puts her feelings aside for others instead of asking for the answers she deserves. That is why I'm here."
"How valiant of you." She snidely remarked. "If you know her well, then you also know she burns bridges to numb the pain."
"Yeah, I'm trying to stop it from happening."
Vanessa glares at the male's back as if he were delusional. "You can't deny any right from her. Her reason is valid. You hurt her so now the ball is on her court."
"I know I have no right or say on anything at the moment!" He growled, frustrated with his predicament. "I'll respect her wishes when she tells me herself. Despite what's going on I still care for her as a friend. I want to be in her life even if it is platonic. For however time she needs space I will give it to her. I want to at least try, and make amends."
