It's Not Rocket Science [James x Reader]

James walked away from his friends over to you. He was going to fulfill his promise? He was going to model your new clothing line? Why? Jessie and Meowth were right here. It was obviously he missed them. It was obvious he was in love with Jessie, not you. So why? Why was he going to still offer to do what you wanted him to do? It didn't sit right with you. Even do it made no sense  he flashed a kind smile towards you.

"I owe you for the meal and clothes, right? Show me what you want me to model for you."

He took your hand in his. It was warm and safe. It felt nice, but you knew it wasn't meant to be in a romantic way. Jessie pursed her lips together  crossed her arms, and tapped her foot on the ground Impatiently. You looked over at Meowth only to see him shrug. You had two choices right now. You could let him go, or you could have him do what you want. Looking back in Jessie's Yesh, oh knew you had your answer.

You slid your hand away from James's and casted your eyes to the floor. Your smile fell. James had a face of concern painted over that smile you liked so much. It was impossible to fall in love so quickly, so easily. It wasn't love, just a silly crush. Yeah. Crush at first sight. You need to let him go back with the people who loved him. You won't be selfish. 

"No, it's fine James. You've done me enough favors, trust me."

James rose an eyebrow. He looked back over at Meowth and Jessie I s we if either of them were forcing you to say that. You were so excited about having a male model, why would you give that up? Besides, he was sure Inkay would love to play around with Dwebble a little more. He has time. He could even talk Jessie and Meowth into modeling too! It would all be a lot of fun!

 He looked back at you to see you hugging yourself and about to cry. What happened? Did he do something wrong? He lifted your chin to see tears swelling in your eyes. It broke James's heart to see someone so kind to him be so hurt. For seemingly no reason too! This didn't sit right with James, not at all.

"Hey, hey hey! What's wrong? I don't want you breaking down on me. Is everything okay? Is there anything we can do? I know we don't have much but Jessie is great at cheering people up! She's a great coordinator so she can preform! I can do that modeling youw anted me to do! What's wrong?"

James seems so concerned with you but.. no. He reached for your hands but you hugged yourself tighter. No. You don't want to be a burden to him any more. You gave him lunch not too long ago, it was time for him to head back off with his friends. You were merely a pit stop for him. He has his own journey to go through. Some random fashion chick he met on route eight was not going to be the person to no,d him back from what he wants. You weren't going to be that awful person.

"James, just go. Jessie is getting impatient and I've had enough favors. Just go."

You refused to meet his eyes. James looked down and pulled his hands back. He looked at your face one last time. He could see a tear drop from your eye. He didn't know what was happening, birb it was best if he left with Jessie. It's what both of you wanted in the end, right? James turned and left with Jessie without another word. Both humans walked through the door and Meowth walked into your line of sight.

"It ain't rocket science, kid. You did the right thing."

Then Meowth left, clsoignt eh door behind himself. You were alone once more.
