Denial {Shirbert Fanfiction} {Anne with an E}

Gilberts POV

As Anne left I let everything sink in. ''Were we about to kiss?'' I had a feeling that I should go after her but my feet were frozen. I looked at Bash that had the biggest smirk plastered on his face.

''Save it'' I say before he has the chance to say something.

''I'm sorry Blythe but there is no saving it this time'' Bash says as he begins laughing

''No Bash I don't have feelings for Anne, No Bash it's not like that with Anne'' Bash says trying to imitate me.

''Well in my defense I didn't think there was something between Anne and I.'' I say.

''Then be a man and tell her how you feel, you saw her run out'' Bash says.

But what was I going to tell Anne? I wasn't even sure I liked her. I was the one that leaned but she leaned it too. What would have happened if Bash didn't come in?

''I don't know if I have feelings for her'' I say

''If you didn't have feelings for her then why did I walk into two people that looked like they were about to kiss? Explain that'' Bash says.

I stutter '' I-I need to focus on my studies, and the farm''

''Whatever you say boy but we both know the truth you just want to deny it'' Bash says

''Is Mary all set to move?'' I ask trying to change the subject.

''Oh no no no Blythe I'm not letting this go so easily.'' He says

I should've known Bash would never let me live this down.

That night I couldn't sleep, all I could think about was what would I possibly tell Anne tomorrow when I see her. With my studies and the farm, I have my work cut out for me I can't have any distractions. Can I?

''Rise and shine lover boy'' I hear I slowly open my eyes to find Bash in front of my bed.

''You stalking me now?'' I say as I start getting use to the light in the room.

''No but I just want to see what you came up with to tell Anne today'' he says chuckling.

''don't remind me'' I say as I get out of bed.

'' Oh I will remind you, I will remind you until you admit it'' Bash says handing me a clean shirt.

''Admit what?'' I ask

''That you like a certain red headed girl called Ann.'' He says

''with an e'' I say. Bash gives me a confused expression.

''Anne with an e at the end of her name, she says its more sophisticated.'' I explained.

Bash raises his eyebrow and let's out a chuckle. I didn't help my case did I.

''Listen I have to go or i'll be late'' I say trying to escape the rath of Bash

''Wait before you go, I need you to check a disease my friend has'' Bash says

''What are the symptoms?'' I ask

''Well he can't admit he likes a girl but almost kissed her'' Bash says unable to stop himself from laughing.

''Very funny, goodbye'' I say sarcastically as I grab a piece of bread and exit the house.
