From 4.14 "Unforgiven", in the mines, The ashes turned from the zombie witch Killian had faced in 2.20 to the Dragon form Freya, Jefferson, Lisa, Saphira and Tori had faced in 2.22 to Maleficent's human form.

Freya/Priscilla: (voice over) "Previously on Worlds Colliding (Once Upon a Time)."

Snow: (voice over from 4.14 Unforgiven) "Maleficent's back."

From 4.13 "Darkness on the Edge of Town", in Granny's diner, Mother Superior looked at the others. "You should be looking for the author."

From 4.14 "Unforgiven", in Regina's office, Henry and Rose found a page from the book in August's stuff.

Mother Superior: (voice over from 4.13 Darkness on the Edge of Town) "He left hidden clues in some of his works."

From 4.14 "Unforgiven", in Regina's office, Regina, Henry, Rose, Alcina and the Matthews were talking.

Alcina was thinking. "If August took the book apart, he might know something about it that we don't."

Rose sighed. "Yeah. Too bad he isn't around to ask."

"August might not be," Mathias told them. "But Pinocchio is."

Later, Pinocchio looked at the others. "Everybody wants me to remember. I just... don't."

"You rode a motorcycle," Saphira told him. "You wore leather and didn't shave."

"He's not trying hard enough," Blake told them.

From 4.14 "Unforgiven", in the woods, Snow, Regina, Alcina and the Matthews were talking.

"We want Regina and Alcina to go undercover with them and help us stop their plans," Snow told them.

"I'll do it instead of Regina and Alcina," Saphira told them.

"I'll help," Tori agreed.

Mathias looked at Snow. "What exactly did you do to Maleficent?"

Snow hesitated for a long moment. "Because of us... Maleficent lost her children."

Night - Granny's Diner

Saphira and Tori joined the Queens of Darkness in the diner.

Saphira looked at Maleficent, smirking. "So the rumors are true. The Dragon Mama and I here helped kill is back from the ashes."

Maleficent looked at them curiously. "Tori. Saphira. I've heard rumors about your missing Matthews, Faye. Where's Mathias? What are you doing here?"

Tori shrugged. "Making it easier for you. If you want to try to kill us, we're right here."

"So that's why you think I'm back, to kill you?" Maleficent asked.

"We helped Freya, Jefferson and Lisa kill you," Saphira told her. "And from what we hear, you're not big on forgiveness."

"That's true," Maleficent agreed. "But what you did is nothing in the grand scheme. There are far worse crimes that must be answered for."

"Careful, darling," Cruella warned. "They're thick as thieves with those heroes."

"Not by choice," Tori told them. "Ursula, you remember how much fun Saphira, Mathias and I had as thieving, conniving pirates that gave into the darkness inside. But in this town, we had to play nice to survive. You heard about what happened to Faye when she didn't play nice."
