Defying The Fates

" Wait  up Kai ." Hillary  shouted  while trying  to catch up  with Kai . Even after hearing  her call him , he kept  walking  not bothering  to give  her any  attention .

" You coward ! You bastard  . You dare do that to me ? " Hillary shouted  on top of her lungs  and stopped  following  .  Kai stopped  walking  and waited  and  waited.

Amidst the trees they looked like carved  statues ; motionless yet enchanting .                                               Hillary had tears  on her eyes and Kai just  stood there feigning indifference with his black-striped white  robe  fluttering  with the wind  radiating absolute royalty . looking  at the two one  could say that Hillary was a desperate maid asking  her master for forgiveness  . But in  reality , she was demanding answers for her  bruised  ego simultaneously risking  her  heart for the cold  answer.                                                                                                                                          

She  wiped  her  tears  as  soon as it  fell on her cheeks .

" Why did you kiss me that  day  Kai ? Why? " 

" I told you that it  was nothing ." He  replied  coldly  and again it  was like an arrow  piercing her already shattered heart making  her feel endless pain .

" That isn't my answer Kai . I asked you why did  you kiss me ?" She asked again and now the  tears  freely from her eyes .

" Forget it  ever happened ." He said with absolute dismissal and walked off leaving  behind a heartbroken Hillary to tend to  her fatal wound on her own .

Seeing Kai walk off on her , she went to her knees and silently cried recalling that unforgettable day.

It so happened that Hillary was walking towards the blading  chamber to supply  dinner to  kenny . She was passing the louvre bridge when  she  suddenly saw a figure resting  under the cherry blossom which was just one meter away from the  bridge .

Recognizing  the  shadow , she smiled  and  did a U turn to reach  the shadow . 

" You only let darkness accompany you . May I know the reason . " She chimed in but Kai didn't  bother  to look up .

She smiled at his obvious reaction and as she was  about to  seat her  beside him , he rose quickly and grabbed  her  by the waist . Due to the sudden  action ,  she dropped her bowl and as  she  was processing what was happening , Kai's lips  were already on hers . She  was ecstatic and didn't   even  mind the  position in which  she  was ; half standing and half sitting .  She closed her  eyes  and  kissed him thoroughly and in  her bliss  she  did  not  realize that Kai  just  kept  his  lips on her  without  properly  kissing and removed it  from  hers when  the bushes moved .

He placed  Hillary  behind  the tree and proceeded to leave . But Hillary held  his  hand and her eyes flashed utter  disappointment . But  Kai just shrugged her hands and left as if nothing  happened . Hillary's eye shade changed from blue to red and then back  to it's original  colour flashing with disappointment to anger to questions . She  stood up  from the ground  and decided to confront Kai .

After  she went , the high  bushes near the trees moved again revealing a   tear -stained face of Ophelia probably heartbroken.........
