"you are, of course you are." his eyes were fixed on her and she felt nervous for a moment. she swore he was staring at her lips so she looked away.

"i can't imagine how difficult must be to deal with such thing since i am only child." she added with a nervous tone.

he blinked twice and then sighed. "you are lucky, in a way." he said, trying to joke, boki laughed with him.

"so you two don't get along pretty well uh."

"maybe one day, i hope so." he said taking the final sip of his tea. boki smiled.

"so why did you return? after all these years?" she asked.

kihyun shrugged. "well... you see my father is retiring soon and he needs help in everything, it was only natural for me to come and help with everything i can."

boki's heart melted at the second he spoke those words. it seemed kihyun cared a lot about his father and she found the whole thing sweet.

"i see, it makes perfectly sense." she spoke but then she noticed how kihyun turned tense, he was staring intensely to something behind her.

she turned to look at his direction and for her surprise, she noticed jooheon coming their way, fists clenched and smokey nose, mouth spitting fire. "what are you two doing here? why are you here with him?" he asked, crossing his arms on his chest, talking directly to boki.

for a second she couldn't believe her own eyes, jooheon was there.

she glanced at kihyun who was staring at jooheon. "i- i..." she didn't know what to say.

"jooheon-ah... - kihyun started with a calming voice but jooheon lifted a hand to stop him. "i am not talking with you – he said now looking at boki – i am talking with you. why are you here with him?"

boki noticed he was wearing a waiter uniform and just now she realized he worked there just in a different section of tables.

"i- we're just – she swallowed hard – we're having-

"a meal. we're eating a meal jooheon, why would you make up a scene about it?" kihyun finished the sentence, clearly helping poor boki out of the uncomfortable situation.

jooheon glared at his brother. "i said, i am not talking to you." he said with a disgusted expression but then turned to look at boki, who looked like a frightened deer.

"what in hell? you got just dumped by your boyfriend yesterday and now you're on a date? with him!?" he asked, emphasizing the last phrase, as if it was something serious.

boki's cheeks turned red as she looked down. the familiar pain of being dumped appeared once more just when jooheon reminded her of it. she wouldn't imagine he'd bring up such thing and much less in front of kihyun.

she was way convinced it wasn't a date. it was only a reunion of friends, to catch up. but jooheon didn't seem to think that way. in his eyes it was a date.

boki felt ashamed of being called out like that and she didn't even dare to look at kihyun after she was completely sure he heard about her being dumped.

on the other hand, kihyun seemed exhausted. as if he was used to this kind of scenes. he massaged his temples and sighed.

"let's go." he said motioning for boki to follow him. jooheon laughed sarcastically as he followed them.
