i am telling you... right now, do not trust him boki. he's not what you think he is...

jooheon's words stuck with her the rest of the night. it was difficult for her to concentrate even though jooheon tried to make conversation on their way back.

"what are you doing around here anyways?" he asked, hands on his pockets. the night's air turned colder.

"i live around... and you?"

"yeah, me too." he said shrugging. something in the way he said it made boki suspect he was lying.

"are you lying to me?"

his eyes widened like plates. "what? aish... i am being completely honest with you and now you're telling me i am a liar? aish jinja..." he exclaimed shaking his head.

he walked a few steps ahead of her and once they reached the next turn, he pointed at an old building. "that's where i live, 3rd floor." he said with a serious tone.

boki swallowed hard. "i am sorry, i thought you were joking."

he rolled his eyes. "i am not!"

but she noticed he kept walking next to her, he didn't turn to go to his house. "why are you still walking with me?" she asked with a visible frown.

"don't you see how dark it is? how i am going to leave you by yourself, walking alone in the night? aish... if my mom finds out she'd beat my ass."

boki tried to contain her laugh but failed. she didn't know how she felt about jooheon walking her home, it was a weird feeling.

"alright... thank you, i guess?"

"pff – he said looking away, acting up – yeah sure, save your thanks to your boyfriend who coincidentally, isn't here." he said motioning as if he was trying to find him around.

boki shook her head. "he's not my boyfriend. we're just friends."

"friends? pff... he doesn't know the meaning of that, love." he said kicking a few rocks that were in the way.

she turned to look at jooheon and for the first time she realized he had big eyes, full of emotion. he could transmit so much with a single look and for a second she felt endeared at the sight of him.

"why do you talk like that about him?" she asked, slightly hurt over jooheon's concept of kihyun.

he shook his head. "because i can." he said as he kept walking with swag. "and because he's not around."

she disapproved the way he expressed about his older brother but she imagined there must be trouble between them and she perfectly understood it wasn't her place to make opinions about it.

"either way- he started but soon stopped talking when he noticed an old man carrying a sack of potatoes, falling down the street.

he left boki with the words on his mouth as he ran towards the old man, quickly helping him to get up. "ahjussi, are you okay?"

"my potatoes, my potatoes!" the old man exclaimed as jooheon helped him up. boki followed him right behind and when she arrived the scene, jooheon ordered her to help the man while he'd pick up the potatoes from the street.

"ahjussi, are you hurt?" she asked with a sweet voice. he shook his head.

"no i am fine dear, but my potatoes-
