suddenly leaving them both there alone. "jooheon, where are you going?" kihyun asked.
"mind your own business."
"jooheon-ssi!" she called him and just with that he stopped on his tracks, turning around as if he was being commanded to. "what?" he asked annoyed.
"why are you here?" she asked confused, her big eyes staring at him. she noticed how he looked hurt and suddenly felt guilty for it.
he shrugged. "you dropped this, this morning." he said taking a small bracelet from the pockets of his hoodie.
boki recognized it immediately and she quickly checked her wrist, only to realize it was gone.
she grabbed her bag and approached jooheon.
kihyun stared at the two with jealous eyes. "did it fall?" she asked, looking it up close.
"i don't know... and to be honest i don't care either... i don't know why i came all this way for this shit – he said mumbling with an annoyed tone – aish." he complained, giving her back the bracelet.
she took it from his hands and for a second their fingers brushed each other's. jooheon's eyes stared down at hers as she flashed a reassuring and sweet look.
"jooheon-ssi. this bracelet means a lot to me... i don't know how to thank you." she said withdrawing her hand, taking the bracelet to her heart.
he shrugged. "i don't care. i didn't bring it here to get a reward." he said turning around and walking back to the campus.
kihyun and boki watched him become smaller in the distance. "don't mind him... he's hectic when someone talks about him or when he listens the truth. it annoys him." he said placing a hand on her shoulder.
she looked up and when their eyes met she swallowed hard. his touch was comforting and warm. "i see... maybe... he doesn't like when people talk about him – she said looking away – i don't' think anyone likes it."
kihyun sighed. "he's sensitive... don't mind him too much. let's leave this behind... do you have any other class?"
boki shook her head. "well... let's go. i'll take you home." he said motioning her to follow him with a sweet smile.
boki agreed since she didn't want to go back by herself but jooheon's situation got her thinking.
she felt wary about everything. she realized how kihyun's words would always trigger something on jooheon and couldn't help but wonder if it was jooheon's fault for being such a bad-tempered person.
the way back to her house was rather quiet. the sun was going down and the city had a beautiful gloomy vibe that boki always loved when other didn't really appreciate it.
she glanced at kihyun and her heart skipped a beat.
boki noticed how someone so beautiful as him, cared so deeply about his stepbrother.
she had never met someone as nice as kihyun and she wished that if she ever had a brother or a sister, would be like him. as mature and generous enough to care for her future even if there was bad blood between them.
it was obvious there were differences between the two of them.
since as long she could remember, kihyun had always been a great student. always pleasing the people around him, popular and capable. she knew he was smart and liked to study.
jooheon on the other hand, he didn't' seem to be like kihyun in any way or form.
but the opposite.
