he didn't know what were boki's favorite foods, that's why he cared so much about the place they were going, to have plenty options. "pork." she said smiling.
"alright. here they have the mustard pork which is grilled pork with a honey mustard sauce accompanied by sautéed veggies and grilled potatoes with vinegar sauce."
boki's eyes widened as she nodded. "that sounds delicious."
kihyun smiled. "surely does."
"alright. i want that."
boki tried the wine as kihyun talked with the waiter, telling them their order. "and for me, please bring me the chicken parmesan with grilled veggies and smashed carrots with caramelized pecans. thank you" he said handing the menu back.
she stared at him as she felt mesmerized by the way he talked and carried himself around. he was surely elegant and had class. "do you like the wine?" he asked, leaning forward on the table.
boki nodded. "it's sweet." she said.
"i know... this is one of my favorites." he said taking a sip. boki noticed how his lips stained with the dark red liquid and she couldn't stop looking when he licked them softly.
she knew she should have looked away, especially when they had eye contact for a few seconds.
boki felt the blood rushing through her veins and she drank the rest of the wine from her cup with a single sip, soon, feeling her head hot.
kihyun smiled. "so... shall we talk about ourselves?" he asked, leaning on the table and staring at her.
"yes but first - she said, cleaning the corner of her lips with the napkin – let's talk about how much this is going to cost because, i only have around-
"what are you talking about?" kihyun asked confused but with a smirk on his lips.
"i am talking about how much all of this is going to cost for us since i don't have stable job, i don't think i can afford that plate, maybe i should change it for something less expensive."
with all the staring at kihyun, she missed the oportunity to change her order. she wasn't wealthy as him. she knew that him paying his part would be easy peasy for him but not for her.
"are you kidding right?" he asked, crossing his arms on his chest. boki shook her head.
"this is on me. you don't need to pay for anything." he tilted his head to one side, staring at her with inquiry eyes.
it was the first time that someone had offered to split the check. usually kihyun's friends either in korea or in australia, always tried to take benefit from him, especially making him pay for their meals or drinks.
but it was the first time that someone tried to pay or to collaborate with something.
boki stared at him confused. "you're buying me this food?"
"yes. it's what dates are about." he said with an amused face. boki didn't know exactly how dates with him worked out since she remembered that in all the dates with minhyuk, they would split the account between the two, and even if minhyuk wasn't as wealthy as kihyun seemed to be, he could perfectly pay for his own food but never offered to pay for boki's, not even once.
she only had the experience with minhyuk since that had been her only boyfriend and it was natural for her to compare kihyun with minhyuk in so many aspects since it was the only thing she knew from before.
"ah... well, in that case – she said bowing softly – thank you."
kihyun chuckled. "please stop... you don't need to thank me. i just – if you want to thank me in some way, just enjoy the food and eat deliciously. i'd like that." he said with a heavenly smile.
