"i didn't know what you liked."

boki smiled as she nodded softly. she didn't care too much about the cookies, or the coffee for the matter. she just wanted answers.

even after all the things jooheon often says about his step brother, sometimes she had moments of weakness in which she'd start doubting about kihyun's intentions and real attitude.

"so... i wanted to talk to you about something." she started. kihyun nodded as he took a sip of his americano, paying extra attention to her.

boki couldn't help but think of how minhyuk would almost never paid attention to her. it was one of the things that she hated about him.

whenever they both were out for food or coffee, he'd always complain about people on his major, his family and friends. only now boki realized he was always victimizing himself and now she couldn't remember a time in which he'd actually listen to her, just like kihyun was doing now.

the view of the dark haired in front of her suddenly sent warm shivers to her spine and she felt her chest burning.

the pink on his cheeks, the smoothness on his skin, the way his hands wrapped around the warm mug and how his dark and intense eyes stared at her with care and gentleness, made it difficult for her to think what she was doing there in the first place.

he was surely distracting.

"are you okay?"

"ah yes." she said nodding, holding onto the mug as if her life depended on it. "well... i just wanted to ask you something... you know? it's stupid actually-

"no, please... go on. you can ask me anything you want." he said with a reassuring tone.

"well... i don't know how to sat this but... you know, my friends... they thought different of you at the beginning... but now they seem to think completely different about you so i was wondering what happened since they changed their mind about you so suddenly?"

kihyun's eyes stared at her for a few seconds. she felt the tension in the table as she felt herself biting her lip.

"ah is that it?" he asked, breathing out in relief. "i thought you were breaking up with me for a second- boki's eyes widened after he said that.

"what? no! of course not. i wouldn't- she said shaking her head. kihyun laughed nervously, placing a hand on his chest.

"phew... you really scared me." he said laughing and taking a sip of his coffee.

"well... i guess they jumped and made assumptions of me... but now they know me better so maybe their feelings changed, that's all." he said nodding.

boki nodded too as she tried to convince herself that that was probably it. "ah i also helped them with a few things so maybe they grew fond of me for that too." he admitted.

with that boki sighed in relief. she felt as if he was keeping that information from her and it was starting to hurt. "ah... they mentioned it." she said.

kihyun laughed ."it was nothing really... easy things for me." he said nodding.

"i appreciate what you did for both of them." boki started as she took a strand of loose hair behind her ear. kihyun stared at her with alert eyes.

"but there's no need for you to do things for my friends to earn their love and trust, really... i am afraid that unconsciously, they'd start asking for more favors and i don't want them to leech off from you." she said with a sweet tone as if she was trying to explain with careful words.
