Trudy covered her face with her pillow, shielding the sunlight from her puffy eyes. "Go away," she mumbled, so annoyed at her best friend, "Leave me be."

Evangeline ignored her, opening the curtains and letting the sunshine peak at the dusty room for the first time in what seemed like an eternity. "Get up," Eva ordered, hazel eyes dominant, "You have been in that bed for four days."

"No," Trudy groaned when Eva pulled the sheets away, "Give it back, it's too cold."

"It's not," Eva said, "The heating system is on - you're boiling!" Eva exclaimed when she touched Trudy, cringing away, "And you smell like a corpse. C'mon, get up and take a shower, you'll feel better."

Groaning and grunting, Trudy forced herself up, only because she did stink like a dead body. After the shower, Trudy had to admit that she was already feeling better and refreshed. When she stepped out of the bathroom, she noticed that Eva changed her bed sheets and cleaned her room, even preparing Trudy's clothes to wear after the shower. Evangeline was nowhere in sight, however.

As Trudy dropped the towel to the ground and slipped on her bra and underwear, she couldn't help but feel thankful to have Evangeline by her side. It felt nice to have someone next to her, taking care of her, and being genuinely interested in her well-being. Totally different from her sister, who used every second to make fun of her downfall, reminding her of her weakness, and going as far as stopping her from seeking help, planting toxic thoughts about her self in her mind.

Trudy pulled up the grey sweatpants to her waist, her head going through the burgundy shirt. She didn't manage to pull the shirt down when Evangeline entered, giving her a flash of her chest.

"Um, I saw nothing," Eva mumbled, a pink blush taking over her freckled cheeks. Eva was holding a tray. She placed it on Trudy's red wooded nightstand that was all the way from Japan. The bread on the plate was fresh from the toaster, the jelly and jam screaming at Trudy to duck her head in them. Even though her body was demanding food, her stomach twisted in disgust at its sight.

"C'mon, eat."

"Ugh, no," Trudy said, sitting on her bed, "I don't feel like it."

Eva's hazel eyes ran over Trudy's thin body. "You lost a lot of weight, you have to make up for it."

"No, I didn't," Trudy denied, even though the loose sweatpants around her waist were proof enough. She played with her falling hair, her aching scalp still suffering from when Justin brutally pulled at it. "My stomach is still upset."

"Right, food poisoning," Eva said, "But you can't starve yourself."

Trudy's stomach wasn't upset because she ate something rotten - other than her broken dignity - but because she needed an excuse for all the puking she did. She wasn't puking voluntarily, of course, but her stomach was just knotted and upset. It was in her favor, after all, losing a few pounds.
