Mitch's POV

I walked into the hospital, well aware that everyone was looking at me. I looked over and couldn't help but laugh at Hurley's and my present state.

"What the hell are you laughing at?" He asked as he led the way towards the receptionist.

"You and I are both covered in dried blood walking into a hospital. We aren't doing a very good job at blending in," I laughed.

"Don't tell Olivia," Hurley smirked as he stopped in front of the receptionist's desk.

"We're here to see Olivia Hurley," Stan greeted the nurse. She nodded as she started searching their records.

"What?" He asked under his breath when he saw the look on my face.

"It's just weird hearing her full name."

He rolled his eyes before turning his attention back to the receptionist.

"It looks like she is still in surgery. Are you both family?" She asked looking strangely between the two of us.

"Yes," Hurley said before I could say anything. "I'm her father and this is her fiancé."

The nurse nodded before looking back at her computer. "She's in surgery room 2 on the third floor. You can wait in the waiting room on the third floor, outside her room. A doctor will find you once she is out of surgery."

"Thank you," he said before heading towards the elevator. When the doors opened, we quietly made our way to the waiting room.

Right as I was about to sit down, Hurley stopped me. "We should probably go get cleaned up. We don't need someone calling the cops saying there are two random men in a hospital waiting room covered in blood. I'll wait while you go get cleaned up first."

I nodded before finding the bathroom. I looked at myself in the mirror and sighed. I turned on the water and started to clean off the blood as I thought about Olivia.

I couldn't get the image out of my head of Olivia lying on that dirty warehouse floor, bleeding. I looked down at my hands under the running water and noticed how badly they were shaking.

I closed my eyes and took a few deep breaths. Once I had felt myself calming down, I finished washing the blood from my hands. I ran my hands through my hair making it so it didn't look like I was just in a fight.

I left the bathroom and walked back out to were Hurley was sitting. He was talking on the phone when I sat down. He hung up the phone and stood up. He headed to the bathroom without a word.

I put my elbows on my knees and placed my face in my hands. I took deep slow breaths, subconsciously bouncing my leg.

"Would you stop that?" I looked up to see Hurley walking towards me. "You're shaking the whole floor."

"Sorry, sir," I mumbled as I stopped shaking my leg. I pressed my hands together, slowly rubbing them together. "I just. . ."

"She's going to be okay," he sighed.

"This is all my fault," I mumbled.

"Rapp," he sighed.

"No!" I yelled a little too loudly. I took a deep breath as I lowered my voice. "I was supposed to watch her. To protect her. And I failed. I. . . I got distracted and she. . . She paid for it."

"Rapp," he said strangely calm. "I know you and I know my daughter. She is one hell of a fighter. So are you. I know that you did everything you could to protect her. She's alive. My daughter is alive because of you, Rapp. That's a debt I can never repay."
