You know I love a good plot twist ;)

"Y/n!" Keith calls out hoping to hear an answer. He doesn't. 

"Keith I think I see her, there in the water" The two boys run down the steep dirt hill as fast as they can while making sure they don't trip over any rocks or vines. What they don't know is that there is a current holding Y/n underwater as she fights to escape its strong force.Jasmin knew about it. Unlike everyone else she knew it wasn't a myth she knew it would be dangerous, Yet she dared the new girl to jump.

Everyone in town always thought the story of that kid who died there was just a folk lore parents told to keep there children away from the vast river. It wasn't though, 20 years ago a teenage boy died there. He was dared by no other than Jasmins father who told the girl the story once and never spoke of it again. It seems that history does indeed tend to repeat itself.

Once down the hill keith grabs a large branch hoping that Y/n could grab on to it. 

Y/n's thoughts

I can hear shouting above the water. I'm thrashing around trying to free myself from this strong current but it's no use. Im starting to inhale water my lungs feel as if they're on fire. I feel something rough sticking into my side it must be Keith with a pole or something I try my best to grab it, to get out of this force field of sorts but again it's no use. My blurred vision begins to fade as I feel my body shutting down. I'm drowning.....

The next thing I know im being pulled out of the water, I'm surrounded by oxygen now but I'm not breathing.....There we go. I begin to choke spitting water out of my mouth trying to inhale the fresh air that I've been yearning for. 

"Oh my God Y/n!"

"Let's go to prom" 

"Only you could joke at a time like this" he smiles bringing me into a hug.

Y/n almost died today yet here she was getting ready for the most pointless thing in the world. Prom. She was the type of person to take life by the balls. To not waste a single day. She decided to wear her long curly hair with a side part nothing too fancy, adding shiny gold studs to accent her golden dress.

"Hey Keith. Bye mom bye dad" she says walking down the stairs. "Wait wait wait let me take a picture" her dad says with a camera in his hand.

"Okay" She stands next to keith and smiles. "Got it. Have fun sweetie" her dad hugs her. She hugs her mom as well and walks out of the door. 

"You look amazing" Keith compliments. 

"Thank you" She blushes. She was pretty excited she'd never been to prom before. She was ready to dance the night away.

The two shortly arrive at the school. Hopping out of the drivers seat Keith walks over to open the door for Y/n. "My lady" he holds out his hand. She smiles gladly accepting it.

"You ready"he asks

"More than ever"

Once inside they hand in their tickets and walk inside the gym. The theme was like was starry night. She'd seen plenty of movies where they go to prom dance with their friends, kiss the boy, get incredibly drunk, and she always dreamed of having that experience and so far it was definetly living up to her expectations. "While you stood her mesmerized by the pretty lights I got us some punch" Keith jokes. "Ha ha very funny" She takes the punch sipping it realizing that someone spiked it. "Someone spiked this". 

"Oh you don't drink, im sorry" He reaches for her cup only to have her pull it back and take another sip all too excitedly. "No no, tonight we drink. cheers" the clink their plastic cups together. 

"Dance with me" Y/n says feeling a little buzzed.

"After you" he bows 

The two dance until they can't dance anymore then a slow song comes on. they get close to each other Keith put his arms around her waist while she puts hers around his neck. "I had alot of fun tonight". She says with her head on his shoulder. "So did I".

"How did you get out" Y/n hear a voice from behind her. "What?" she pulls away from Keith. 

"The current how did you-" Jasmin begins to back up.

"Keith pulled me out in time" She says looking behind her confusedly. He's gone.

"your clothes"

"Keith was right here a second ago" she looks down at her clothes. What happened to her dress? Why was she all wet?

"Y/n I'm so sorry" she hears Keiths voice louder than the music itself. She then feels somthing brush against her cheek. She wipes her hand across her face. "What's going on"

"I don't-" Jasmin begins but is cut off by police filing in and the music stopping. "Jasmin Pierce you are under arrest for the murder of Y/n Y/ln." they begin to read her, her rights.

Murder? I'm right here officer, Im not dead. I'm not- one of the arresting officers walks right through me. What the fuck.

"Y/n im sorry" She hears his voice again. Only this time further away. She follow's it until she arrives back at the river. She see's her body unresponsive in Keiths arms. He's crying and holding her tight. Her parents are there speaking to the cops that were there trying to figure out what happened.

"Mom? Dad? Oh Keith." She crys kneeling next to him wrapping him in a hug. He must of felt something because he stopped crying and leaned down to her cold body to whisper I love you in her ear.

I love you too.

A/N Damn I didn't want to kill us but don't lie and say that didn't end beautifully 

p.s everyone that was in on the prank got jail time and or probation Jasmin got life in prison with a murder charge and her lil sidekick and everyone else besides Keith and the boy that stayed to help got 10 years for Involuntary manslaughter (Yes I googled that justice is served)
