It was Saturday, light rain was pouring outside. It was quite beautiful; I sat on the sofa the one looking out to the market across from our building. I took my work everywhere it was the one thing I had to pride myself on. Even at home, while sipping tea on a raining day.

"Bruh, mom said you have to come Thanksgiving. " Ivan was my little brother, we didn't come together to America. He came three years after me and adjusted not so quickly but he did adjust.

"Tell her I will come, with food." I saw the face he made, it was very funny. "I can see you, stupid you are on face time."

"I know. Instead of food, you made an effort to be here. We don't miss you a lot just worried you might be one of those people that don't talk to their family. " My family didn't always use to get along, we've had our troubles. Of course, with half your world on another continent, it was hard not to be resentful.

" I will make an effort. So how is Liam?" Ivan and his boyfriend have been together for seven years, practically common law marriage.

"Umm, we are kind of taking a break." Ivan only fidgeted when he was nervous, embarrassed, or annoyed. We were closer being the oldest of the family, Ivan told me first that he was gay.

He told me about his secret boyfriends, I vouched for him to sneak out, and for having a "girlfriend." I loved all my siblings, it was us against traditional parents, against arguments and occasionally the world. If Ivan didn't want to tell me, it means he needed more time.

" I've always told you to rinse the dishes before putting them in the washer." He smiled, the one that didn't make me feel like a horrible sister.

"You are almost funny, come to Thanksgiving so I'm not the only one they nag at. " He said very seriously, giving me a stern look which I thought was adorable.

" If you bring the booze then I will be there." I winked at him, he understood what the winked meant. Ivan got special discounts at the most expensive alcoholic drinks because he had connections from his work.

"You are unbelievable, but I'll bring booze." He was already leaving for work. I didn't get why he needed to go to work if he just planned events.

"You looooove me, I am your sister." I teased. "Bye."

"See ya." Ivan hanged up, and I was left to once again watch the downpour outside.

After a couple hours with nothing else to do, I decided to hit the gym. I went to my usual training class where I spent at least two good hours. I wasn't overweight, but that's also thanks to the couple hours I spent at the gym.

Back in the lobby, I heard a voice that I knew but couldn't grasp from where. I saw the two men almost arguing the one with the faint British accent saying "I am sure she lives here, why can't I wait for her?." "The lobby has no waiting area so that will be impossible," said Sean he spotted me then quickly added, "But here is Miss Martin."

"Hi." Now that I had more time to look at him he was good looking, he had porcelain looking skin. His hair had a chestnut color and looked tidy. I suddenly felt self-conscious just leaving the gym, sweaty and not looking my best.

"James, how is my car?" Of course, he had to be here about my car.

"Great, I just dropped it off," He smiled "Here are your keys."

"Oh. You should have given it to Sean, no troubles." Perhaps it really was a British people thing to be extremely polite.

"I wanted to ask you out."
