The next morning Stefani woke in the quite unfamiliar bed of her guest room. It felt wrong sleeping in the bed she and Christian used to sleep in, for obvious reasons. She looked at the clock. 8:30. She let out a loud sigh, she didn't have to be in work until 1 today.
She replayed last nights events over and over. She felt relieved, but still awful about it all. She never would have done it so quickly if she hadn't rang her mother yesterday morning. She was glad she did. To someone else it might have seemed too fast, irresponsible. But they would never understand how empty she felt for so long. What was the point of pro-longing being with someone if you were 100% sure it was over. She had to do it.
She then had an overwhelmingly amount of worry hit her. What if Christian finds out it was Bradley, what if the public got a hold of it. It would be so bad she thought. She calmed herself down. He doesn't know who it was, he doesn't want to know. And even thought he's angry right now she knew he wouldn't go to press with this. Not with something so personal. Not giving his own line of work.
Not too far away Bradley walked into his own house after spending the night at Alex's house. "Where were you Bradley?" Irina sighed.
"Sorry I was at Alex's, it was late I didn't bother texting I knew you'd be asleep."
"Why didn't you just come home like you always do when you work late?" She asked.
"Irina I think we need to talk."
"I think so too." She said, surprising him.
They sat down on the sofa, both waiting for the other to start. When it got too long, Bradley decided to say something. "Things haven't been working out."
She nodded looking at her laps. "Bradley you've been distant for months. I don't know what's wrong with you, but you haven't really been here." This time a hint of sadness peaked through her voice.
"I know and I'm sorry." He said unable to look at her.
"I think we've both been unhappy for a while, and I think you can definitely agree with me there." She said. He couldn't believe she was saying what he planned on saying before he could even get a word out. Made him feel a lot less nervous.
"Yeah I know, and I blame myself really I do. It's not fair on you or Lea. I think we rushed into this life because we had too. And now it's now good enough for either of us."
She nodded. She knew he was right. They forced themselves to try make it work for Lea's sake but they couldn't help it it wasn't working. And it hasn't been for a long, long time.
"I know things haven't been great for a while, but you've been different the last few months. What's going on?" She asked. Her voice broke his heart. He wasn't going to lie to her. He sat for a bit trying to figure how to tell the mother of his child that he was in love with someone else.
"There's someone else." He said shamefully. Irina didn't say anything. It's what she thought was going on for a while anyway, she just figured he'd lie and say no, so now she was left speechless.
"It's her isn't it." She said simply, not even needing to say her name. He knew who she meant. He didn't say anything. Making her add "is it Stefani, Bradley."
He nodded. "I'm so sorry." He said.
"How long? How long have you been with her?" She asked.
"No I haven't been with her like that at all." He confirmed implying he hasn't slept with her. "I had one slip up a couple days ago, we just kissed, that was it."
If she wasn't so sure the relationship was over beside the cheating part she would be furious. But she wasn't. She was at least thankful he didn't disrespect her by sleeping with someone else whenever he felt like it.
