The next morning came fast, like I only had a second of sleep. I looked to Jeff whose gaze was burning into my cheek.
"Do you think it'll work?" I asked tiredly.
"It better," he replied. He honestly looked a little worried himself. He looked away and clenched his fists as the cell door opened.
"Well good morning!" The lead Volliar smiled in delight. "I hope you guys slept good!"
I flashed a false smile back at him. He snapped his fingers and the servant Volliar shuffled inside and unlocked my shackles.
I fell to the ground, my arms slightly numb along with my legs. I was yanked up, and flashes of the corporation flitted through my mind.
"Bring her to the start of the cave." he ordered. The servant kept his firm grip on me, and I didn't resist.
I glanced back at Jeff. He gave me a look that said, 'You better do this right or I'll kill you in Hell.'
I was dragged through a long hallway. It was rocky on the ground, my feet getting stabbed every second.
After a moment of walking the hallway, I noticed that it split off. One hall kept going forward and opened up, and the on the right of me I saw what must've been thousands of weapons. I could've sworn I caught a glimpse of Jeff's knife but I wasn't sure because I was pushed along.
We were in a dome-like cave with sharp rocks jutting up from the top and the ground. Many Volliars were scurrying along, minding their own business until they saw me.
They gave me curious glances and some even tried to touch me. I felt disgusted.
Holes were literally everywhere on the walls. Almost every single one had a Volliar head peeping out.
At the back there were two large holes. Tiny Volliars were lined up in front of them. I realized that this game was a game that every Volliar played in their childhood.
"Move out of the way." the servant shooed them all away before they could plunge into the darkness.
I went over the plan in my head trillions of times. I found myself slightly panicked.
He lined me up right in front of the gap, and I saw a full grown Volliar lined up in front of the one beside me.
The servant let me go, but I didn't attempt to run. I just got into a racing position and took a deep breath. The lead Volliar made his way through the crowd and positioned himself in the middle of the two gaps.
"My fellow Volliars, one of my prisoners have challenged us to a game. If she wins, she leaves with no memory of this place. If she loses, she stays. It's easy." The Volliars all murmured and some even cheered.
"We rarely have challenges by an outsider, so this is definitely a special occasion." The lead Volliar said to me with a smile.
I didn't answer. I kept my eyes on the gap in front of me. I had to do this.
"Alright... Ready? Set? GO!" he shouted.
This was it. I fell to the ground, clutching my stomach and acting as if pure agony was scorching through me body.
I screeched so loud, that I was sure it could've broken a window if I was on the surface. The Volliars were extremely sound sensitive, and we could use that to our advantage since the Volliars didn't know we knew.
Every single one of them fell to the ground and held their ears, screaming in agony and adding to my screams.
But the lead Volliar didn't even flinch. I didn't understand. Was he not effected by sound? He immediately lashed out and me and grabbed my waist.
