Not so invisible to me

Chapter 5

Ravens POV

"Raven! Wake up and get ready I'll drive you to school today!" My ma's voice boomed through the house.

YES! I'll get to school early today and I'll see... no one. The sudden realisation hits me that Lucas probably won't want to hang out with me, he could easily fit in with the populars' and who would pass that up? He would forget about me and my lonely life would go on boringly as always, but I'd deal, like I always do.

I get dressed and brush my teeth and put on my make-up, all while feeling very gloomy. I put my hair in a side ponytail and pull out some ripped jeans, blue blouse, red beanie and my favourite white converse. Once dressed I bound downstairs and get greeted by my mum.

"Hey sweetie, are you ready now? Because I have to get to work super-duper early today"

I glance at the clock.

Huh. 15 minutes earlier than usual.

"Sure mum just let me grab my bag" I run back upstairs and grab my bag, shoving in everything I need for today. I grab my phone and earphones and shove those in as well, once I double check everything and my makeup, I rush downstairs and meet up with my mum at the front door.

"Let's go" Mum says, rushing to the car.

I follow, keeping up well, thank-you long legs. And jump in the passenger set as my mum gets in the driver's seat and starts the car. The ride was short to school, and I kiss my mum on the cheek and exit the car. I wave as she drives off and I start my way to my locker.

As I open my locker and start grabbing books and putting some back, I feel someone breathe on my neck. I jump as I feel a person's mouth gently kiss my neck then pull away and lean on the locker next to mine facing me while smirking.

"Geez Lucas you scared the living daylights outa me" I struggle to catch my breath from the intense moment. And look at him, he is wearing some denim jeans and a black V-neck today with black converse. I look at his face and he's smiling cheekily down at me.

He chuckles and I just mutter inconsiderate things under my breath. Trying to act normal while inside I was melting! He KISSED ME! K-I-S-S-E-D M-E! OMG OMG.

"Come on Raven lets go get breakfast" he starts pulling me towards the canteen but I stay put.

"What?" he asks "Unless you had breakfast?" he asks quickly "Then I'll get food later" he lets go of my arm.

"No, no breakfast sounds good" I say and he smiles. I just didn't want any food but he clearly hasn't had any food yet. We make our way towards the canteen walking beside each other, not holding hands, but his arm was brushing against mine a lot and it was driving me crazy!

Just before he opened the canteen door I grab his hand and he stops walking and turns his full attention to me

"I- just..." I try a grasp the right words I want to, I well, I want to kiss him but I don't know what to do.

I suddenly remember him kissing my neck before, and I know what I'm going to do. I look around and make sure no one is in the hallway then I turn to Lucas and he's standing there patiently with raised eyebrows. I grin cheekily and suddenly a surge of courage goes through me and I stand on my tippy toes, put my hands behind his neck and bring him down, and I lean forward and kiss his neck then his ear, then his jaw lastly. He's breathing heavily and my hearts' going about the same pace as his - a million miles per hour - I don't pull away straight away, but whisper in his ear,

"Now we're even" I quickly pull away, then open the cafeteria doors and walk away with my head held high.
