Here's for the person who said, and I quote, "can you do one where Reagan is being a badass in he medical field." Enjoy!

Reagan entered the room, a soft smile on her face. "Hey guys," she greeted happily. Probably a little too happy for it being 9:30 on a Saturday morning. "Jackson Smith, right?"

The little boy sitting on the examination table nodded slowly. Reagan looked down at her laptop as she sat on the stool. "Sorry he's a tad shy," the woman with him, who Reagan assumed was his mom, said.

"No it's all good," Reagan assured. "I just need to verify some stuff with you real quick."

"Alright," his mother nodded.

"Date of birth?"

"July 10th, 2014."

"Any allergies?"

"No."

"Any surgeries?"

"No."

"Okay," Reagan smiled. She grabbed her pulse oximeter, stethoscope, and otoscope before bending down in front of Jackson. "Alright, I'm gonna mess with you a little bit but I promise it's nothing scary," Jackson just nodded as Reagan smiled and opened the pulse oximeter. "Can I have your finger?"

Jackson held out his pointer finger and Reagan clipped it on. "Chomp," she said quietly as it closed around. Jackson let out a small giggle and Reagan smiled to herself. "I can't believe it just ate your finger!"

"It didn't eat my finger," Jackson laughed.

Reagan unclipped the tool when she got her reading. "I guess you're right. Good things it didn't actually eat your finger. How else would you be able to pick your nose?" She asked, typing the information onto her spreadsheet.

"I don't pick my nose!" Jackson gasped.

"That's what I tell people when they mention it too," Reagan smiled as she set her stethoscope on Jackson's chest. His heartbeat sounded fine so she moved it to his back. "Can you take deep breaths for me?"

The four year old complied and tried his hardest to take big deep breaths. They were enough for Reagan to hear that his lungs were fine as well. "Good job," she smiled. "Okay, I'm gonna do one last thing. Is it okay if I see if any monkeys are in your ear?"

"Monkeys in my ear?"

"Yeah," she nodded. "Monkeys in your ear. Sometimes monkeys like to get in there and cause trouble so I need to make sure there aren't any right now."

Jackson nodded and laughed. "Okay."

Reagan took her otoscope and looked in each ear. The left one looked fine, however, the right one looked like he had an ear infection. "Oh no."

"Are there monkeys in that ear? It's been hurting for a couple days. That's why my mommy brought me in."

"I'm afraid there are two monkeys in there jumping on a bed," Reagan sighed. "And what happened when their mom called the doctor?"

"He said 'no more monkeys jumping on the bed!'" Jackson giggled.

"Exactly! So I'm gonna have to give you some medicine to make sure all the monkeys go away. It's kinda yucky but it'll make you feel better. I promise. Can you try to take it for me? I've loved looking to see if there were monkeys in your ears but I don't wanna see you back here because that means you're still sick, okay?"

"Okay," Jackson nodded.

Reagan turned to his mom who was smiling. "Is there anything else you came in for?"

"He's been complaining of a sore throat."

"Oh no. That's not good," she frowned, looking at Jackson. "I'm gonna get my special monkey tool and make sure there are no monkeys in your throat either, okay?"

"Okay!"

Reagan turned the otoscope back. "Alright Jackson, I need you to open your mouth and say 'ahh.' It scares the monkeys when you do that and helps me see them better."

Jackson nodded and did as he was told, saying his 'ahh' a little loud. Reagan smiled and checked his throat. It looked liked signs on strep and she frowned. "I'm afraid you have some monkeys in there too, bud," she turned back to his mom. "Any fevers in the past few days?"

"He felt warm yesterday morning so I kept him home from school. It broke late afternoon though and he hasn't had one since."

"I think he might have strep throat. Is it alright with you if we test it?"

"What do you have to do to test it?" Jackson asked fearfully.

"I'm gonna put this weird plastic stick in your mouth that'll taste like candy. It'll hit your throat though and it might make you gag. It's not very fun but it's over real quick and after that you can have a surprise."

"I like surprises," Jackson hummed as Reagan went over to one of the drawers in the room and looked for the strep sticks.

"Is there a certain flavor you want? We have cotton candy, strawberry, grape, and cherry. It helps with it being in your mouth because wooden sticks don't taste very good."

"Grape, please."

Reagan grabbed a purple one and washed her hands and put gloves on before unwrapping it. She walked over to Jackson. "Okay, say 'ahh' for me again."

He did as instructed and Reagan stuck the stick in. The boy gagged a little but it was our before anything worse could happen. Reagan quickly stuck it in a plastic baggie. She took her gloves off and washed her hands again. "You did great, Jackson!" She grinned. "I'm gonna go take this to the lab and a doctor will be in shortly with the results and to double check everything else is fine."

"Thank you," his mom cut in.

"Of course," Reagan nodded. "Do you want a sucker or a sticker or..." she paused. "Both?"

"Can I have both?"

"Sure thing, give me a second," she walked over to her desk in the hallway and grabbed her container of stickers and basket of suckers before coming back. "Take as many as you want."

Jackson took three stickers (two Spongebob and a Batman) and a grape sucker. "Thank you!"

"You're very welcome. The doctor will be in soon. Have a good rest of your day, guys."

"You too!" His mom called as Reagan left the room, shutting the door behind her.

She let out a content sigh as he made her way to her desk, sitting down on the cushioned office chair. She grabbed her phone from her purse that was under the table and saw she had a few notifications.

Josh

Hey sexy you left before I woke up and could tell you to have a good day at work. I love you. Call me when you get a second

Reagan smiled once more as she pressed the call button on her boyfriend's contact and put the phone to her ear.

Life really couldn't get much better.
