Jeff was already down the stairs and waiting. He hadn't made a single sound. How? I had no clue.
I sighed in relief when I made it down, and then I took careful steps down the hallway and into the kitchen.
"You're so slow!" Jeff whisper yelled, waiting in the kitchen for me.
I ignored him, still focused. I slowly opened the door and jogged outside.
"Do you even know why you need to come out here?" Jeff asked.
"Not really." I admitted.
"Then why are we out here?" Jeff huffed.
"Well who ever said you were invited?" I snapped.
I was pretty sure I got him there, because for once he didn't snap back.
"I think we need to go over there." I said, pointing to the darkness of the woods beside Jeff.
I didn't wait for a response. I was already on my way there.
Jeff was right beside me in a second, glancing around as if he expected something to pop out at any given moment.
"Scared?" I teased.
He tensed, as if he was about to slice my neck open, "Shut up." he hissed.
I knew better than to push it any farther, so I left it alone. Ahead, I heard a rustle in the leaves. I ignored it, determined to find what I so desperately wanted to find.
"(Y/N)," Jeff called, his voice slightly nervous.
I continued to walk, blocking out Jeff's calls.
"(Y/N)!" All of the sudden, something charged toward me at top speed.
Jeff shoved me and jumped backward, the weird thing missing us by an inch.
I couldn't quite see it, it was too dark. I picked myself up and immediately got pinned down.
"Jeff!" I hissed as pain scorched my stomach. It felt like daggers were being dragged across my flesh. The creature shrieked in my face, only giving me a glimpse of its facial features. But even then, I couldn't tell what it was.
Jeff tackled it from the side, the monster releasing me. The creature screeched, but I couldn't quite tell where it was.
Jeff grabbed my arm and yanked me up, sprinting away.
"What is that thing?!" I yelled, clutching my stomach in desperate attempt to stop the bleeding.
He didn't respond, he was too busy rushing through the trees. Behind us I heard angry shrieks and the sound of thousands of twigs snapping. It was getting closer and closer by the second.
I started to get really cold. My vision began spinning. I physically couldn't shift and I just couldn't focus.
Jeff growled angrily and as quick as a flash picked me up bridal style.
"You're helpless!" he hissed, but nonetheless he continued to run. I wasn't very happy to say the least. But I didn't have a choice other than to let him carry me.
He turned and jumped, plunging through bushes and thorns. I couldn't quite feel anything anymore.
I fought against unconsciousness, trying to keep my eyes open. But they were getting so... heavy...
The creatures screams started to fade. I wasn't sure if that was because I was losing consciousness or if it was because it was losing us.
Jeff bursted through the woods, and I could see the stars in the sky again. The creature tackled Jeff, and I went flying. I hit a tree with a thud. My eyes slowly started closing, unconsciousness pulling me into a dark abyss..

"(Y/N), open your eyes alright?" I heard Jeff's distant voice order. I couldn't understand.
Suddenly, as I started to lose consciousness again, a searing pain blazed through my wound. My eyes immediately shot open. I was ready to punch whoever was trying to kill me. But my eyes widened in shock at the sight I saw. Jeff was actually cleaning my wound.
"Did-did you kill it?" I asked in pain, referring to the large monster.
"I couldn't quite kill the thing, but I managed to lead it away and lose it. By then you were already unconscious though."
Jeff started wrapping my stomach. I was laying on the bath, Jeff right above me and seeming quite focused. I couldn't believe my eyes. Him helping me?
"Is it deep?" I asked weakly.
"Not too bad. But it was enough to bleed a lot." he replied, "This is exactly why I had to come. You're too helpless to even stay alert!"
"I'm not in the mood for arguing.." I groaned. He seriously had to make an argument about everything.
"Can you stand, or do I need to help you with that too?" he growled.
"I'm fine." I snapped. I felt slightly better. But as much as I hated to admit it, he was right. If he wasn't there I probably would have died.
I slowly got to my feet, wincing in pain. How was I going to prove myself if I was in such a bad condition?
"What I'm I going to do tomorrow?" I asked, making my way toward the door of the bathroom.
"You're going to have to fight through the pain." he shrugged. My nerves started working up. This was not good.
"I'm screwed.." I sighed quietly as we walked down the hall.
Jeff didn't reply, he just quickly opened the door to his room and hopped on his bed.
I went to the corner and laid down, anxiety of tomorrow the only thing I could feel.
