Both men had landed on the hardwood floor of the manors main room. Their bodies emitting the sound of a rock being dropped onto a piece of chalk. They groaned at the pain in their sides, bruising was a sure thing for them. Rather than letting the two lay there in pain and anguish, slender held onto the men by their ankles. He was used to his proxies being injured like this on missions, the only difference was that this wasn't an ordinary mission, this was a personal quest, for love. Of course, it bothered him that almost everyone could find someone but he was left to fend for his own emotional sanity. He wanted the luxury of being loved and being able to love but as a multi-dimensional being, it was hard to stay grounded with any other entity.
Even if he had wanted to, his choices were limited and his status was held above his proxies, his pride. They saw him as a master, a father, not a friend nor a lover. Setting Tim and Jack into the medical office's beds they were then moved into the intensive care unit. Dr. Smiley had been attending to Toby and Maria's bodies when they had both began to register a pulse. Everyone gathered at the Hospital room ready to greet their two new loved ones. Maria's body began to regain its color, which used to be pale skin turned a soft peach color while her lips returned to their natural tan state. Toby, on the other hand, showed no noticeable changes other than his heartbeat. The pair had opened their eyes to the cold white room, a sea of warm smiles welcoming them back, all but two. Jack and Tim had remained in the ICU for treatments including broken ribs, internal bleeding, and a few shards of soul crystals which had embedded themselves in their skin.
All seemed well until toby began to speak. "Yo wh-wheres M-Masky?" his tone had changed, his wording felt strange as if he had been someone entirely different, his knowledge was stable, and he was responding well to his physical exam but he seemed a lot more hyper than before, as expected he had lost some memories and he had sustained more mental and emotional damage. He had forgotten who Tim was to him. "C-come on Doc, please p-please please please p-please." He became like a child, asking everyone for something, he was loudmouthed, obnoxious, he lost his sense of filter.
No one knew what to make of it, they thought it would be a phase but they would soon learn that they were wrong. Slowly both pairs recovered, Maria and Toby had to learn to use their arms and legs once more, their muscle memory wasn't gone but they did indeed forget how to control their actions. Tim and Jacks bodies' healed and when they and their lovers were able to walk properly, they had their first meeting on months. Winter and spring had passed but Tim still remembered Tobie's soft smile, his beautiful laugh. Jack and Tim made their way to the recreation room in order to see their lovers, only for their arrival to be a disaster.
Cake frosting littered the floor as toby began to take his socks off, he took a running start and began to slide on the buttery substance only for him to knock right into Tim as he opened the door. "Fuck, who did that!" Tim yelled at the currently unknown figure only to notice the goggles. Rather than it being a sweet and romantic reunion, Toby smeared Tims face with the frosting. "Can't catch me you Masked loser," with those words toby began to run away from Tim as if he didn't know what they were before. Tim not knowing how to respond decided to leave, he felt hurt, angry, abandoned. He had finally found someone but they had changed, they had forgotten.
