As moments trickled by, I let them catch their breath, calm down a little. I turned to face away from Nathan deliberately, not wanting to face him, not willing to get the pain hurt me anymore.
He didn’t trust me.
“Get out of the Rosaline” Nathan ordered, his command raging through the hall, echoing the heaviness of his tone. How I love this man, and how I was unfortunate enough to only have one sided love and trust. I had trusted this man with everything I had, down to every small detail. My heart, my soul, my life, my marriage everything, and yet here he stood fighting with someone else because he didn’t trust me at all.
Mean while, I saw that Chris raised this two uninjured fingers up, gesturing the same thing he had done moments ago to his men. Slowly, his men began walking out of the door, leaving just us inside. I vaguely wondered why he would be doing that. Chris seemed to be my saving grace at the moment, so I was just glad that he was here, keeping me away from Nathan.
The two men holding Brittany down, shoved their hands under each of her armpits and dragged her out of the room ruthlessly. I winced at her condition, but choose to say nothing, I could deal with her later, right now I had to get these two in order. Regardless of what was happening between me and Nathan and what was going to happen, I loved him to much to kill or get killed this is ballistic and baseless fight.
“How about a fair game, brother” Chris said completely ignoring me and continuing as he took away the gun from his waist and shoved it far away, as it glide across the room near the entrance.
Why hadn’t he shot Nathan if he had this all this time?
But I knew better than to question, this was Chris and Nathan. Nothing about what they did was simple or went by plain logic. “My men wouldn’t interrupt us any longer, let us finish of this shit.”
I vaguely wondered why hadn’t Chris clarified that not once had he even touched me. Why had he told Nathan that the child was his, I had no idea. Maybe he was on a suicide mission. I shook my head, clearing it off any unwanted thoughts, and brought my attention back to the situation at hand.
“I will not Nathan” I turned and looked back at Nathan answering his question I knew I had to face him some time about this. Why not now? I could feel it boiling and brimming out of me.
He looked at me with warning in his eyes, as though telling me that moving away would be my best tactic, but that simply made me more furious. I placed my hands on each side of my waist, taking up a determined stance right between the two brother.
What did he think of me? Some doll he could use as he pleased and push aside when he didn’t need it?
Chris who seemed to be getting impatient by now, said from behind me, “Get out of the way Rose, this is not a woman’s game”
