I tried calling my mum numerous times but she wasn't answering. The voice at the end said 'The number you are trying to reach is unavailable. Please end the call and start again'. After many times trying, I remembered that she told me she lost the land-line in her first letter..

It was so selfish of me to go to Australia and leave my mum and siblings behind. She told me it was not and encouraged me to write my name on the list. She promised me she'd be okay while I was away. She told me to have fun and not worry about her, so I did. Look what happened..

I'm tired of this, all of this. I just want to go home. My mum needs me, I can't stay here in Australia while she is struggling back in England. I hate seeing her in misery. The flower shop was everything to her and now that she lost it, I don't know how she will take this both financially and emotionally.    What am I gonna do?

Everything's crumbling down because of me. I should've stayed in England. None of this would've ever happened if I had stayed there.

On top of that, I lost Luke..

''It's all my fault,'' I repeated once again.

''No, it's not,'' said Luke, running a warm, comforting hand up and down my back which was somehow soothing but not enough to erase all my worries.

''It is. By coming here, I left my family behind and while I was having fun here, everything was crumbling down at home. I feel so helpless...'' I trailed off.

''You didn't left them behind. It might feels like that to you but I'm sure your mum knows you didn't. From what you told me, you and your mum are really closed and I doubt  she think you left them.''

''I feel like I can never have fun without something to happen. Life really does hate me.''

I heard Luke chuckled. ''What are you talking about?''

I sat up on the bed and faced the blue eyed boy. ''When we kissed for the first time, I got a letter from my mum with bad news. When you.. erm.. you touched me at some intimate place, your father hit you. And last night, we.. had some sexual encounters, I got this letter saying we lost the flower shop,'' I explained to the blonde.

''It doesn't means anything. Don't be so superstitious, Ashton,'' he laughed.

''Everything happen for a reason, Luke.''

He shook his head. ''Not always-''

''Yes. Every time we were happy together something happened. Are we damned or something?'' I asked to no one in particular.

''These were coincidences-'' he started.

I cut him. ''They were not!''

He rolled his eyes. ''So what do you want to do about it?''

I shrugged. ''M-maybe we should stop this,'' I suggested.

He raised a brow, confused. ''This?''

''Yes. This as in us, Luke,'' I repeated in a small, monotone voice.

''What? Why? No, you can't do this.''

''I can. I think I need to keep my distance from you for a moment. Please don't be mad or offended, it's nothing against you I-''

''You told me we would make this work but you're backing off because of some stupidities,'' accused Luke. ''You told me to stop pushing people away but that's exactly what you're doing right now, Ashton. I thought you were different from everyone, that you were a truly great person but I guess I was wrong. Fuck you, Ashton,'' he said, getting up from the bed and - probably - leaving. I heard him walk on the wooden floor and then the sound of a door being slammed shut. I turned on my stomach and cried into my pillow.

It's been an hour since Luke and I thought he would come back and apologies after a few minutes but he's been locked up in his bedroom since he left mine. I hate when he and I are fighting. I didn't want to make him angry by saying we couldn't be together anymore. I thought he'd take it as if it was nothing but I was completely wrong.

I got up from my bed and whipped the dried tears with the sleeve of Luke's red flannel. I sniffled one last time before walking over the blonde's bedroom. 'Luke? You there?'' Silence. ''I know you're there, I can hear your music from the other side of the door,'' I said, my ear pressed against the door. I shifted awkwardly on my feet, toying with the hem of the flannel as I waited for an answer. ''I'm sorry, Luke. I shouldn't have said that.'' I paused, waiting a moment. ''I'm sorry,'' I repeated, entering in Luke's room after knocking. He was sitting on his bed with his laptop open to some music video, his beats laying next to the grey electronic engine. ''I'm truly sorry, Luke-''

He cut me and looked up from his screen, pausing the video. ''Saying 'sorry' is brief. It's overused by people, thinking it can solve any problems or conflict but sometime a mere 'sorry' isn't enough.''

''What do you want me to say then?'' I asked him.

''You're a grow up boy, Ashton. You can surely find out by yourself. Now, if you'd excuse me, I was doing something before you interrupt me so you must leave and close the door behind you,'' he told me before putting his beats back on top of his head and going back to his laptop screen.

I lowered my head to the floor and left like he asked me to and closed the door, trying to find a way to apologize to the beautiful boy who've slipped off my hands so easily...

I wish I could call my mum right now. She always gives me the best advices and always knows what to say whatever situation I'm stuck in. She's the best mum. I miss her. I hope she's doing okay back home. Well, as okay as someone who lost it's most cherish belonging can be.

A/N This chapter is short but it was meant to since I only wanted it to be focused on Ashton and Luke's fight. What did you think of it? Do you think Luke or Ashton overreacted? What Ashton should do to be forgiven by Luke? Let me know in the comments below and don't forget to vote.
