'Cheater!' my second best friend and Beta exclaimed as I jumped on her and caused her to fall. 'Wait till your mother hears about this.'
I rolled my eyes at her, sending her an image of me laughing. 'And what will my mother do?' I asked, staring at her with a twinkle in my eyes. 'Absolutely nothing.' I wagged my tail and jumped out of her way as she tried to take a bite out of me. 'Oh, so now you want to fight. Is that it?" I asked, turning towards her.
My Beta, Ceira, stopped herself before she ran into me. Her blue eyes held this spark of mischief, and it was still surprising that she was older than me because she acted younger, even though we were close in age. 'Yes,' she replied. 'I am pissed at you.'
'You are always pissed at me before I offer you food,' I replied, and she snorted and rolled her eyes. I danced out of her way, making sure that both my head and tail were up to show my rank.
'Well, now food will not work this time,' she said. She rolled her eyes as she saw my dance, used to this whole thing. 'Stop acting like the world revolves around you and fight me, bitch.'
I rolled my eyes at her and moved out of her away again. 'You have to catch me first,' I said. I lunged towards her and bit at her shoulder, being gentle.
Unlike most Werewolves, I was one of the strongest Wolves out there. Sometimes, if I didn't pay attention to my strength, I could badly injure someone else. I had almost killed a man once on accident, and the only reason as to why he didn't die was because my mother had healed him.
'Come on, TJ,' Ceira scowled when I just nipped her gently. 'Use your strength. I can handle it.' She tried to jump on me, but I ducked, so she went flying into a tree instead. 'Ow. That did not go as planned.'
I walked over to her and saw that her butt was in the air. I rolled my eyes as she glanced up at me, cocking her head. I leaned over and licked her, and she growled and snapped at me. 'You know as well as I do that Mom doesn't want me to use my full strength to anyone but her and Dad.' I scowled. 'Even then, I cannot beat them.'
Ceira grumbled and turned herself the right way. She shook out her fur and huffed. 'It wasn't your fault,' she said, studying me. 'It was his. He was the one that had pushed you to your limit. I have never seen you so angry.'
I shrugged my shoulder, still feeling the anger that I had from that confrontation. 'He taunted my mother, our Luna, and called her the death of the pack.' I growled, my claws digging into the ground. 'She should've let me kill him.'
'Didn't she say that he was innocent, which was why she stopped him from dying?' Ceira asked. 'I thought you could sense it too, but you were blinded with anger.' She nipped at my ear. 'Stop thinking about it,' she scowled when I shook my head. 'What is done is done.'
I gave her a weird look because that was what my mother had said when I brought it up to her. 'Stop sounding like my mother,' I said, and she grimaced. 'It doesn't do well to have two Sam's.'
'Though, your sister is more like her,' Ceira said.
'Which one?' I asked, giving her a weird look, even though I knew who she was talking about. 'I have like ten sisters and nine brothers.'
Ceira rolled her eyes and grumbled something underneath her breath. 'I-' she started to say before someone stepped on a branch behind us.
We turned around to see a female, our age, standing there. Fear was coming off of her in waves, and I was sure that it was because we were not like regular Wolves. We were taller than them, and I could see that it scared her.
I took a deep breath but couldn't find a scent, but there was this pull between us. I could tell that she looked familiar, so that was why I snapped at Ceira when she made a move towards her. 'Wait,' I said, taking a step forward. I made sure that my body relaxed, but I could tell that she was still afraid.
"Uh... good, Wolfie?" the female asked, and my heart fluttered. She held up her hands and backed up, and my wolf whined in sadness. "I-I didn't mean to go onto your territory. I-I am new here and wanted to explore."
I sat down and cocked my head. My Wolf was in awe of her, and I could tell that he was thinking the same thing that I was thinking.
'TJ?" Ceira asked. 'What are you doing?' She shifted on her feet as she watched the girl took a hesitant step forward. She growled a warning, and she backed up.
'Wait,' I said. 'Sit down. Trust me.'
Ceira huffed and rolled her eyes. However, she sat down before laying down. Her eyes were on the girl, and I could tell that she was getting curious too. 'Why does she look familiar?' she asked, saying the same thing that I was thinking.
I laid down and placed my tail on Ceira's head, and she snapped at it. I wanted to say who I thought it was, but I had no idea why she acted as if she had never seen big wolves before. 'I don't know,' I said, lying.
The girl took a deep breath and held out her hand. She had this entranced look in her eyes, and I could tell that there was a hidden part of her that knew who and what I was. "Easy, Wolfie," she said. She took a hesitant step forward, her eyes not straight on me. "I just want to touch you..."
I closed my eyes when she came nearer and leaned my head closer to her hand. A soft sound escaped my throat when her warm hand met my head. I liked how soft her touch was as well as the sparks that came from us touching.
I opened my eyes, knowing full well what this meant. Shock and happiness filled my body because I could tell that it was Serenity, my Serenity. No one but her could make these sparks, and I knew that she wasn't dead. I didn't feel anything, and Mom did say that I would if she did die.
'Mate.'
"Mate."
