"Be quiet, young Padawan. The force will lead me to the sleep playlist," he said, plugging in my phone and the soft few notes of Life echoed through the room as we fell asleep.
"Hey, wake up. We have work to do today," Meredith said, softly shaking me awake, "There's food and coffee."
I stretched and smiled. "I'll be right there," I whispered.
"Okay," she said, leaving me alone. I grinned and got dressed in record time before going to the kitchen. True to her word, there was food and coffee. I made myself some coffee. Meredith eyed me strangely. "It's too hot for what you're wearing. And eat some real food."
"Okay," I said, knowing to trust her, seeing as she lived in Chicago for a long time.
"Come on," she said, taking me to my room. She started ruffling through my shirts. "Do you have anything that is appropriate for the weather?"
"This," I said, getting a crop top. Meredith smiled when she saw I already had on my high-waisted shorts.
"Put this on," she said. I obeyed.
"Mere, why are you so intent on my appearance today?" I asked.
"I don't know. I have a gut feeling," she answered. I nodded in understanding as we went to the kitchen. Obeying Meredith's earlier command, I ate a yogurt cup. I was never hungry in the mornings.
"Let's go, Robert, Mini Criss, Mere," Brian said. We drove to rehearsal. Today there was someone new. He had tanned olive skin and looked Italian. With a quick eyebrow conversation, Robert passed on the message that was Clark Baxtresser. One of the most attractive Starkids, as everyone knew. It was super busy with everyone greeting each other and Clark so Brian pulled me aside. "Can you go tell Clark the schedule?" He pointed towards the keyboard.
"What is it?" I asked.
"This," Brian said, giving me a sheet of paper with shorthand scrawling covering it. "Actually, would you mind rewriting it neatly with full words?"
"No problem," I said, sitting down on the stage and quickly writing it.
I nodded and headed towards the keyboard. "Excuse me," I said quietly when I walked up to Clark talking to someone on the phone.
"She's here actually so stop being a helicopter brother because she's alive," Clark said. I had never heard him speak and I wouldn't mind having a recording of that to listen to. He hung up. "Mini Criss?"
I nodded. "Yeah. So um, Brian wanted me to give you this schedule. Apparently, today is all music," I said, handing him my hand-written schedule in my neat-ish handwriting.
"Thanks," he said, taking it and sitting behind the keyboard. I decided to not be antisocial and try to talk, but he seemed busy with notes, so I left. Besides, small talk wasn't really my forté. Not wanting to even attempt it, I went over to Joey who was in rehearsal again.
"How're you doing?" I asked him.
"Good. How are you doing?" He asked me in reply.
"Same. I am just eagerly awaiting an email," I said.
"About what?"
"I submitted a manuscript for a book," I said. "The publishers decided they wanted it, so now I'm just waiting for more information."
"You write?" He asked me. I nodded. "Eric! Get over here!"
Eric Kahn-Gale came up to us and sat by Joey. "Yeah?"
"You have a rival," Joey said, presenting me with a sweep of his arm. "Now geek out over grammar or something. Or tell her the publishing process geeky stuff because she's experiencing it right now."
Joey left and sat down in the row behind us. "Hi. I'm Luna," I said, "Or as Brian calls me, Mini Criss."
"Okay then. So. What point in the process are you at?" He asked.
"I sent in manuscript two days ago," I said.
"Ah, so the waiting process where you question why you did this," Eric smiled, leaning back. "Good luck, it'll be fine."
"Eric! We need you down here!" Brian called.
"Well, goodbye Luna. I'll see you around," he said.
Disclaimer: I only own Luna and the plot line.
Well, guys, this nerd has Monday off, a golf tournament on Tuesday, Wednesday I have school, Thursday I have a field trip, and Friday is a school day. I also have about 515 pages left in David Copperfield, which I'm still not enjoying. It rained for most of this week, so we didn't have much golf practice. In other news, I'm wishing a VERY belated birthday to Lauren Lopez!!! She's amazing. Also, I don't know if you peeked onto Jaime's Instagram, but things are happening at YouTube Space LA. I'm pretty sure it has something to do with 10 years of Starkid. I'm not super sure about who's going to be involved, but here are the people I know for sure:
-Jaime
-Joey
-Rosenthal
-Devin
-Darren (!!!)
-Julia
-Corey
That's all my knowledge thus far, and everyone else's. Have a great week!!!
