Taking a deep breath, Adelaine slipped off her uniform, and changed into an oversized sweater and black leggings. She sat in the bed after pulling her hair up in a messy bun, unable to comprehend what to do next. The ginger didn't know how long she was staring off into space when Michael knocked on her door.

"Adelaine?" The blond sat next to her, taking her hand in his, "What's wrong?"

The ginger blinked, finally coming to her senses. She bit her lip, not wanting to utter a lie, but she didn't know how to tell him that she found out the truth from his supposedly dead Grandma, "Can you trust me? I can't talk about it right now." She placed her other hand on top of his large ones, "But when the right time comes, I'll tell you, okay? I'll tell everything you need to know about me. Even my past."

Mchael nodded thoughtfully, "I trust you."

Adelaine finally smiled, her lips curling up, "Come on, let's eat some snacks."

THE NEXT DAY, Adelaine was feeling a bit better. It was Saturday, and she didn't have to go to work. Stretching in her bed, she spotted the blond laying next to her, his eyes still closed. The ginger suddenly remembered that she planned something for him later that day, about a place that he probably hadn't gone to yet. Richie had agreed to lend Adelaine her car, in exchange of the ginger covering her shift on Monday.

She prepared all of Michael's favorite breakfast again since she failed to do so yesterday. It was supposed to be "French toast Friday" but since she was sick, the blond insisted that they skip it. He was easily pleased, with small treats and his favorite foods. He even enjoyed the chocolate milkshake that he brought him, claiming that he'd like to drink more next week.

The Langdon boy enthusiastically ate the French toast, maple syrup staining the sides of his lips. The ginger cleaned it up for him, wiping the syrup away with a table napkin.

When afternoon rolled around, Adelaine started getting ready for her surprise to the blond. Giggling to herself, she took her time curling her untamed orange hair, down to the tips. Then she applied mascara and a generous coat of tangerine lipgloss in her lips. The ginger even more the beige sundress that she had kept in the back of her small walk-in, pairing it with a cropped medium-washed denim jacket. Winking at her reflection, she tied half of her up in a ponytail.

Michael waited patiently for her at the couch, dressed in the baby blue shirt that she picked for him and some simple plain black jeans. His blond hair was messy, just like how the ginger wanted it. Adelaine's heart skipped a beat when the blond looked up upon hearing her come out of the room, a smile lighting up his handsome face.

"So..." She dragged nervously, willing herself not to blush, "What do you think?" The ginger even managed to twirl around, for dramatic effect.

Standing up from his seat, the Langdon boy kept eye contact with her, "You look really great."

Adelaine fought the redness rising to her cheeks, as she tugged on his hand, "Come on, let's go."

Climbing into the driver's seat of Richie's sedan, the ginger watched as Michael cautiously got into the passenger's seat, his blue eyes curiously looking around. She wondered if he ever rode a car or any vehicle for that matter. Letting a breath, the ginger finally twisted the key in the ignition, the engine roaring to life. Her co-worker's playlist of hiphop song blasted on the radio as soon as they drove away, Adelaine chuckling as the blond nodded his head to the beat.

An hour later, they finally arrived at their destination. The sky was now swirling with the mixture of orange and pinks as the sun set in the horizon, the warmth slowly being replaced with the coolness of the night. The Langdon boy's hand clasped around her as they both got out of the car, their eyes navigating the new place.

"Surprise!" Adelaine exclaimed happily, earning a grin from the blond. Out of instinct, he pulled her body closer to his as they entered the fun place.

The amusement park was packed with families, friends and lovers lining up for rides or just wandering around. The ginger purchased tickets at the booth, Michael standing as close as possible to her as he watched what she was doing.

"So, what ride do you want to try first?" She asked as soon as they were out of the booth. Her companion looked both nervous and excited at the same time, a sight that makes him look even more cuter – she noticed as she looked up at him.

Michael was about to voice out his answer when he noticed the big ball of pink fluff that the children were holding, "What's that?"

Pulling her ironed curly hair on the side, Adelaine followed the blond's eyes, "Cotton candy," She meet his gaze, "Wanna try?"

The Langdon boy's reply was an excited nod. A few minutes later, the ginger and the blond found themselves sitting at the bench, picking on the blue and pink cotton candy they were each holding. Surprisingly, Michael got the pink, and she got the blue one. He insisited on getting it, mumbling that it reminded him of her. Adelaine swore she was redder than the color of Richie's sedan as soon as they walked away, the cotton candy seller commenting that "they were cute together". The ginger fought the urge to tell her that blond beside her was literally three years old. She bit her tongue, scolding herself whenever she found herself staring at him a little longer than necessary. Knowing that she had developed feelings for a toddler in an adult's body, Adelaine shivered. Michael ate his cotton candy merrily beside her, unaware of the storm she was feeling inside. He turned to her, smiling innocently, like a child that was given his favorite candy.

The Langdon boy will be the death of her. She can almost taste it.
