My Secret Temptation

Kaia's POV

I woke up to soft feeling of my new sheets brushing against my skin gently. My curls rejoiced at the feeling of finally being washed last night. The sun was shinning through my apartment window lighting up the whole room. Pure bliss.

I inhaled the fall air flowing through the opened windows.I was truly lucky to have such a creative best friend. I brushed the covers off legs and entered my kitchen.

I managed to convince my landlord to let me take my childhood dog Super. My mom hated Super and insisted she was a waste of space. She was a birthday present from my father, the only living memory I have of him.

"Hi baby." I always talked to her expecting an answer. I raked my fingers throughout her black fur. Yes, she was a black dog.

"Nothing? Okay." I giggled and began my morning routine.

I was running late as per usual but nothing my bike couldn't fix.

"Be good Super, I love you." I gave her one last pat. Grabbed my keys, and made my way to the door.

"Behave, no random parties in mommy's house! Okay?" I blew her a kiss and she barked. The dog was human in past life and I can guarantee.

I skipped down the stairs to the main exit to see a well rested Ryan. Back leaned against the wall. 

He wore a white hoodie and acid washed jeans.  

"Waiting for someone?" I gave him a sly smirk.

"Yes indeed, she's about 5 feet tall, long black curls, and owes me a date. You've seen her?"
He gave me a pondered look and folded his arms.

"Well... yes actually come to think of it. I may have seen her."

I continued to play along with him.

"Wonderful, I hope she has a dress picked out. I don't want her to be unprepared for tomorrow." He informed me with a smirk.

I stoped in my tracks by the sound of "tomorrow".

"Tomorrow? Like as in tomorrow, tomorrow?" I questioned.

"Tomorrow." He gave me playful little smirk.

"Bye Gorgeous." He kissed my cheek and took my hand putting something in it. He got in his car and drove off.

Alongside his car was My bike. I started the engine and followed behind him.

I ran through a sea of high school student until I found Maia. With her was Xavier and some of his friends.

"Maia!" I panted almost passing out.

She chuckled rubbing circles on my back as I caught my breath. "Someone die? Is that our mystery like that would be so cool. And we could be like Sherlock and and..." Her predictions were always incorrect.

"No stupid. This is what we need to investigate." I finally said catching my breath.

"A damn paint brush Kaia?" She said annoyed that her scenario was wrong.
