Harry's Pov
I saw Draco sit down next to me while I was brewing a potion and experimenting with different ingredients. "Umm Harry, what are you doing with that frogs liver?" I turned around to see Draco's confused face staring at me. "I'm doing the potions assignment for Proffesor Snape, the one where you have to explain the different ingredients." I replied. He looked at me with this 'what in the pickles' look. "But Harry, that's not due until next month! Why are you starting it already?" I just gave Draco the "I don't feel like explaining so I'm not going to" look. He just sighed in defeat and continued whatever he was originally doing. Now that I'm left alone with my thoughts, I remembered something that I put in the very back of my head.
I completely forgot about that cerberus I was supposed to research about! Now that I think about it, the redhead and mudblood have been pretty quiet nowadays. I haven't heard from them since a week ago when we had that little incident. Speaking about that, I still have detention with Professor Snape and I don't know how much longer I can keep up with this. Everyday I basically just scrub cauldrons or throw out expired ingredients, sometimes having to clean out the jar myself. It's so awkward and it's just this loud silence if that makes any sense. It's almost time to go to the dungeons actually so I might as well finish this assignment tomorrow or something. Welp, time to suffer!
Snape's Pov
Another day of making Potter suffer is about to pass by since it's almost time for his detention. Honestly, this is pretty harsh, even for me. The kid basically protected us from a huge troll that could probably kill a student or two if they weren't careful. If anything we should be at least thanking him for getting rid of that horrendous creature. Wait...I'm not defending Potter! I'm simply stating my opinion! Just as I thought this to myself the Potter brat knocked on the door. Honestly I have so much better things to do like why did Dumbledore have to assign detention for him with ME. I just sighed and said a "enter" allowing him to come inside. "Today you will be scrubbing cauldrons again for I don't have any other punishment for you." The boy just nodded and got to work. Ugh this is not what I signed up for when I said I wanted a job here.
Harry Pov
DEAR MERLIN OR ANYONE JUST PLEASE SOMEONE SAY SOMETHING. It's so quiet that I can literally hear Professor Snape breathing! It seems like my prayers have been answered because Professor Snape suddenly spoke out of nowhere, it's a miracle! "Mr. Potter, I suggest you wash your hands before you get blood all over the cauldrons that you've been cleaning." At first I was really confused, what blood was he talking about? Then I looked down to see that my hands had some scratches from the sharp stones that were in the cauldron for some unknown reason. "Oh uhm sorry sir, I'll go wash my hands." I left as quickly as possible and took as much time as I could washing my hands. There was no bandages I could wrap around the scratches so I decided it's best to let them heal on their own. When I came back it seems something was bothering Professor Snape because he had an even bigger frown on his face.
"Potter come here." For a moment I was kinda shocked, scared, traumatised, and curious all at the same time. I went closer to him and he started bandaging...my hands??? Hoooooold on, what's happening?! "Mr. Potter, you must be more careful while cleaning or else you might end up with purple hands or painful bruises. I was in shock so I just nodded my head slowly, still taking in the words he just said to me. I can't believe this...He, for the first time in my entire life, was being nice. Last time I checked, the words Snape and nice, did not go together! Well I'm not disliking it or anything, it's just so sudden.
By the time he was done bandaging my hands our detention was over and he dismissed me for the day. I basically sprinted to my dorm to tell Draco about everything that just happened. When I opened Draco's door, I found the most adorable thing ever. Draco was taking a nap, using my books as a pillow and he was wearing one of my enchanted flower crowns that made the person wearing the flowers to have good dreams. I decided not to wake him up and let him rest since it seems he was enjoying his little nap. I'll wake him up when it's time to eat dinner, but in the time being, I think we have some research to do.
I headed down to the library to see the headmaster and a...mirror?
