MANAN-The badass nerd

 Nandini's POV

  Now Aliya, Navya, Vibha and me have the complete story of Mukti who is adamant on giving her resignation and all others are convincing her not to do that and give Abhimanyu a chance. I cannot say anything as I am the most confused one whether to give a chance to Manik or not, but I want to give a chance. Aliya told me that Mukti has philophobia - fear of falling in love. I think Mukti and me are in the same boat.    

  "Nandini, do you know any one in the office who was given desk job and she resigned seeing that and was later given the job in newspaper?" Mukti is plopped on the sofa and asked this. "Mukti, it's none other than me. Actually I was in the sting operation team and then as you told they gave me the desk job. Why do you ask?" all of a sudden this question makes me curious .

 "Today, Mr. Thakkar's father had come and was telling about you and at last he told that you are like your father stubborn and curious something..." Mukti trailed off. Does he know my parents or only my father? I need to have a talk. Suddenly sound of breaking of glass was heard from some room. I gestured everyone to be quiet and held a lamp in my hand.

  When I entered the room, there stood 5 big men with black mask and black blazer and black pant. I think they don't have any other colour. There are 5 and there must be more I need to send my friends away from this bungalow. Even the security have taken the leave. I called the police while going to the living room not before locking the room where the 5 men were present.

  The police reacted immedialtely and assured that they wiil be here in 5 minutes. "Girls there are attackers here so we need to go into hiding in a safe place. I whisper yelled at them." Mukti and Navya took the bathroom of my room. Vibha and Aliya went under bed. I went inside the store room and called Manik who didn't wait for second and started consoling me. Suddenly the door burst open and before I could scream, they tied a cloth around my mouth. They dragged me to the living room. The other girls were kneeling in front of them with their hands, legs and their mouth tied.

  Where is Mukti? she was missing and soon even I was joined with the kneeling girls. They all raised the gun, but the gun was thrown when Mukti hit one, with her heels. She started running around the house and the brainless creatures chasing them. The door slung open "Everyone freeze!!!" yelled one of the police officers.

  Manik came running to me and freed me from all the ropes. "Are you ok?" he asked taking me into hug and I could hear some muffled voices and gestured Manik to release other girls. "Manik, so mean yaar!!  I am your best friend, but you went near your girlfriend. I will tell this to Druv," Aliya said this in fake anger. I blushed at her comment and Manik rolled his eyes.

  "So I am increasing the security around you all. Nandini I suggest you to be with anyone of your friends as it is really dangerous. I recommend you all to take the basic self defence training. If that's ok with you." Jason said. After police took all them Mr. Oberoi, that is Mr. Vikram. Oberoi and his son Mr. Aditya. Oberoi came to the location and discussed about the attacks. They didn't take any action against me for secretly investigating the murder and supported me to it. Jason did all the security thing and is really worried about me.

 " I am in." I said and a heard the same in chorus. "Thank Mr. D' Costa." Mr. Thakkar said and went near Mukti who was trying to stay away from him. Everyone got busy and I dragged Manik to the terrace.

 "Manik I wanted to say somet..." before I could complete "I know, you are very sorry for the trouble you caused, but let me tell you that you are a part of my life and it's not the trouble." I was really happy, but I am telling him some other thing "Manik, lis..." he cut me off " No I know you want me and my friends to back out.." I didn't let him "Manik this is not.." uh... he is not letting me to speak. "you are grateful that I saved your life, but I am ...."

  I did the only thing that could stop him from speaking. I kissed him. I can't believe this, but I kissed him. He was shocked by my action, after a minute I pulled myself and saw a stunned Manik. "Did you kiss me?" he asked in a soft tone, even I couldn't recognise. I nodded as I was too much shy to speak. "I want to give a chance." I said and looked at him. "For what?" he asked still in daze.

  "Idiot, I want to give you a chance to our relationship." I yelled at him. The shocked face of his still remained the same. "Please pinch me." I looked at him confused, was he not happy? "what?" I asked whether I heard it right? "I said pinch me." he yelled making me startle. I did as he said.

  "I think I am not dreaming. I think I am not hallucinating. I think Nandini really wants to be my girlfriend." he said and looked at me. The next second he was on the floor. I panicked at his state. I think he fainted listening. I thought of giving a chance to Manik after hearing all the convincing words of our friends. I know it was for Mukti, but it worked on me. And here I have a giant man who fainted listening my love confession.

 I took some water and sprinkled on him. He gained some consciousness. 

 Now I need to see how this woks?
