I feel like a ninja right now, constantly moving around the room and going back to normal whenever Carl passes by me or takes his eyes off of me. I talked to Enid last night, we both made an agreement that we're going to the Hilltop and visit Maggie and Sasha. I need to show them something, I wrote it days ago when I was constantly up all night, having nightmares about what happened to Glenn and Abraham.
So when I convinced Carl to get me a glass of water from downstairs, I checked my backpack from under the bed and shoved my notebook down there. Once everything I needed was there, I opened the window and there was Enid down there, waiting for me.
"Catch!" I whispered-yell and she holds her hands up, before I threw my bag out. I closed the window back down, just in time as Carl comes back up with the glass of water.
"Thanks." I smiled up to him before taking a sip, trying to act usual. "Hey, I'm gonna go see Enid later. We'll probably be at her house."
"Probably?" Carl raised his eyebrow.
"We won't go over the walls." I said, my hands playing with the hem of my shirt.
Carl looks at me suspiciously, before he nods his head and kissed my forehead. "Come home before dinner?"
I nodded. "Yeah, sure."
I told him I'm gonna go now before rushing down the stairs, leaving the glass on the kitchen counter. I spotted Michonne by the living room.
She looked at suspiciously and I just smiled at her awkwardly. "Hi. Bye."
I went out the house, walking while I was at Michonne's eyesight before running to the side of the house where Enid is. She hands me my bag before we ran away from the house, going to the very back of the neighborhood where we usually climb the walls because nobody sees us there.
"Wanna do the honors?" Enid asked, holding out her metal sticks.
"Why not." I said before taking the sticks from her hands and placing them on the wall and climbing up.
When I finally got over the wall and down to the ground, I got my knife out and walked towards a walker approaching me, stabbing its head before it falls limp to the ground. "Enid, you're up!"
I walked towards the bikes that Enid got ready for us. There's two of them. It's been ages since I've ridden a bike, I don't even know if I still know how to, but that's now the main goal right now. The goal is to reach Hilltop and visit Maggie and Sasha.
"Enid." I tensed up when I heard Carl's voice from the other side. Shit.
"I need to see Maggie." I hear Enid say.
"Where's Farren? She told me she's gonna meet you." Shit, shit, shit. "She's on the other side, isn't she?"
Enid doesn't answer, there's no point in lying anyway, so I sighed. I go to speak up, but Enid beat me to do it. "I told her to meet me by the gate. She's probably there by now. Just tell her I had something to do and I can't make it."
"You're walking to the Hilltop?" I heard Carl asked after a few moments of silence. I heard movement against the wall so I assume that Enid's starting to climb up. "It's far."
"I'll be fine." Enid said to him.
"Maybe." I sighed as Carl said that.
"I'll be fine. I have better aim than you." I sighed again at the harshness. Enid's usually like that when people just won't stop bugging her off, I got used to her but that was still pretty harsh. "I didn't mean it that way."
