"Aye! C'mere mano!" One of my friends yelled across the courtyard, obviously wanting the attention of Spooky.

They were all in love with him, I on the other hand despised him. He was a total jerk. How could they like him?

"Whatchu want hynas?!" He yelled back.

All the girls giggled and sighed dreamily. I just sat there and rolled my eyes. God they were annoying.

Why was I friends with them again? I forgot.

I was looking down at my lap, staring at my folded hands. I didn't want any attention from Spooky's gang.

"(Y/n)! Isn't he hot?" Isabella asked. I didn't answer.

"Damn, I just want to jump his fine ass!" Valentina added.

"Hell yeah!" The rest of the girls agreed.

I didn't want to be here. Looking up from my hands, my eyes locked with Spooky's. I quietly gasped, looking away.

Shit (Y/n). Now he's going to think your in to him. That's just one more thing to boost his ego.

"I have to go, my-uh-mom just texted me." I lied, while getting up from the bench we were sitting on.

Some of the girls nodded, still entranced by Spooky. I quickly grabbed my bag and headed away from the boy-crazy teens.

I walked out of the courtyard and made my way to my neighborhood. My mom never actually texted me to pick me up, hell, she doesn't even own a car. Her and my dad work 24/7. They barely earn enough money to keep a roof over our heads and food on the table.

As I continued walking to my neighborhood, my phone vibrated, interrupting my thoughts. Pulling it out of my jeans pocket, I saw I got a message.

Valentina:
Hey puta! Where did you go?

Me:
I'm heading home, pretty sure I told you.

Valentina:
No you didn't. You just left!

Me:
I told you...

Valentina:
Whatever. Me and the girls are heading to the diner, wanna join? Since you so kindly left us.

Me:
Fine, but you gotta pick me up.

Valentina:
Ok be there in a sec.

I sighed while turning off my phone. I wasn't far from the courtyard so I knew Valentina would be here soon.

I waited a few minutes until I saw her car driving down the road. She honked at me while driving up next to the sidewalk. I quickly opened the back door of the car and slid in.

"Hey (Y/n)! Let's go stuff our faces with fries and stare at Spooky and his gang!" She yelled while speeding towards the diner.
