"Ruby?" You asked while laying down on his bed. You were over at his house just hanging out like you both usually do. It had become a routine ever since you two became friends.

"Yeah, (Y/n)?" He said.

"What are we?" You asked urgently.

"What do you mean?"

"Never mind." You grumbled. You sat up on the small mattress and looked at him. He was lying down on the other bed in his room.

"(Y/n)! Tell me." He laughed. You rolled your eyes at him. He looked at you with a ghost of a smile on his face, his brown eyes twinkling brightly in admiration.

You had liked Ruby for a while now, and were not sure if he liked you back. It was always mixed emotions between you both. You either liked him as a friend, or more than that. It differed each day.

"Nah, lets play a game." You said, backing down from telling him your feelings.

"Truth or dare?" Ruby said, in hopes you would say yes while sitting on the bed to face you. You nodded to him, urging him to go. You wanted Ruby to go first so that you could see where this would lead the both of you.

"Ok. Truth or dare?"

"Hmmm. Dare." You smiled. Ruby eyed you deviously.

"I dare you to tell me who you like."

"I'm not telling you shit." You laughed. "That's a truth question not a dare."

"Ai (Y/nnn). I got nothing." He said, slapping his hands on his thighs in an attempt to have a mini "tantrum".

"Fine I'll ask you. Truth or dare?" You said.

"Truth." He smirked.

"That's easy! But fine." You thought for a moment. "Who do you like?"

"What? I just asked you that!" Ruby exclaimed.

"Yeah, but it was a dare. The question was meant for truth." You said in a 'duh' tone.

"Whatever." He mumbled. "I'll tell you. But I'm gonna give you a hint." He said, pointing at you while raising his eyebrows to show that he was serious. "She has (e/c) eyes."

"Really?" You said monotonously.

"Yup." He nodded triumphantly. He sat up a bit straighter to get a better look at you.

"A lot of girls have that eye color. Just tell me! I'm your best friend." You whined. while throwing your head back dramatically.

"I told you I'd give you a hint. There's no way in hell I'm telling you who I like."

"Why not?" You frowned.

"Aw, you look so cute when you pout." Ruby mocked in a baby voice. You glared at him while grabbing a nearby pillow and holding it on your lap.

"I'll strangle you." You muttered, just enough for him to hear from across the room.

"Okay, okay. Sorry." He said while raising his hands in defense.

A few minutes of silence passed, neither of you talking. You both just stared at anything but each other. It was boring but of course you didn't mind. It was Ruby, why wouldn't you want to hang out with him?

"Ugh, this is going no where." You sighed.

"Yeah." Ruby grumbled, plopping down on the bed. Neither of you knew what to do or say. There was a thick tension in the air that both of you felt. You took a guess and thought that it was from you asking who he liked.

Why couldn't he just tell me? Why can't he just like me? You thought sadly.

"(Y/n)?" Ruby whispered from across the room, breaking you out of your thoughts. You lifted your head to meet his warm brown eyes.

"Yes?"

He sighed before getting up from his bed and walking to the one you were sitting on. The mattress dipped under his weight when he sat beside you.

"Do you really want to know who I like?" He asked as he stared at you warmly. You shrugged your shoulders in response.

"I don't really care. You can like whoever you want, you don't have to tell me." You mumbled into the pillow you were holding. He chuckled lightly before scooting a little more closer to your slouching form.

"I'm gonna tell you because I know that you care." He said with a smile. You peered up at him allowing him to speak. "I said I'd give you a hint right? She has the softest (h/c) hair, beautiful (e/c) eyes that I can get lost in all day, (s/c) skin that looks amazing in the sun, and is just an amazing and gorgeous girl. Too gorgeous that words couldn't even explain."

Your heart raced at what he said. He explained all the traits that you had. From your hair color down to the color of your skin. You weren't sure if you were happy or scared, but you were filled to the brink with hope. Hope that it was you.

But don't a lot of girls have that? Why did I have to make this about me. I bet he doesn't even like me like that. What is wrong with me? You thought mournfully.

"Oh." Is the only thing you could muster out. You didn't want to seem excited over something that might not even be about you.

"Do you know who it is?" Ruby asked carefully. You shook your head no as you stared at the ground.

"It's you (Y/n). I like you."

"You do?" You asked in shock. You faced his grinning face that was tinted with a slight blush. He sighed while laughing at the same time. You couldn't believe that he liked you. It all felt surreal.

"Ruby, I like you too. I always have I was just scared to tell you."

He looked at you with a gleam of hope in his eyes. He quickly took the pillow out of your arms and grabbed your waist to pull you down onto his lap. He hurriedly connected your lips together in a quick kiss before looking back up to you.

"Hell yes! I finally got my girl!" He smiled at you. He looked so happy that it made your heart flutter.

"And I finally got my man."
