A Broken Web

I can see the pain in her eyes. She looks at me, not saying anything, but her eyes are filled with a mixture of pain, and pleading for help. I take her hand, and pick up the phone. I dial 911. "Hello, what is the case of your emergency?" The woman says. "My girlfriend, Gwen Stacy, something is wrong with her back. She was in for an operation on it about a month ago." Gwen squeezes my hand, trying to get my attention. "Dr...Dr...Dr Masdire." She manages to whisper. "Dr Masdire, was her Doctor. Please, just call an ambulance!!!!" I shout. I tell the woman my address, and wait with Gwen. She manages a small smile. "Thank You, Bug-Boy." She manages to say weakly. The pain is obviously too much for her. I smile, as tears start to trail down my eyes. She whimpers in discomfort, and I know, that wherever she goes next, I will stay by her side. Always, by her side.
