CHAPTER FOUR
refreshing sight

today was finally the day most students was looking forward to, well except for hayden summerall. today was the first day of summer vacation. he was looking forward to spending the summer with his brothers who were staying for the break.

sadly, he couldn't. but at least he had his friends with him. even if they had to share the camp with their rivals. he opened the door of his brand new range rover which his father had gotten him for his sixteenth birthday.

he placed his luggage in his trunk and started up his car. he was going to pick up his bestfriend, annie.

the two had a thing going on between last year but it didn't work out so they agreed to stay as the closest of friends. the pair were inseperable.

after a five minute drive, hayden reached her house and spotted her petite figure. he scrolled down his window.

"get in loser" hayden yelled at her with a smile.

she rolled her eyes playfully and opened the car door. annie greeted him with a side hug.

"let's go bitch" annie said as she connected her phone to his radio, blasting out her favourite playlist.

the two jammed their hearts out as they reached the camp site. after roughly an hour, they finally reached it. the two reunited with their other friends, kenzie, lilia and joey, who had arrived here on their own.

"hey who's that girl standing beside joey?" annie whispered as she started towards a brunette with blonde highlights.

hayden gave a small smile. "that's joey's cousin, sophia"

hayden went up to sophia and engulfed her in hug. the pair were close childhood friends.

"i've missed u kid" hayden said as he messed with her hair.

"it's nice to finally see you after all this years, summerall" sophia smirked. she knew how much he hated being called that.

"nice to finally see you too birlem" parker smiled and looked at his friends.

it was a rare occasion to see someone from northwood and westford interacting so closely. it was a refreshing sight to see.

the group of five plus sophia headed towards the main entrance of the camp site. sophia insisted that she would wait for her friends but joey felt bad leaving her behind. plus, she had been waiting for 30 minutes so who knew how long more she had to wait.

they signed up their names and were assigned their own groups. joey, sophia and kenzie were in one group while lilia, annie and hayden were in another. sadly they weren't together but at least they had their friends with them.

the group parted ways and made their way to their individual group cabins. the girls and guys shared the same cabin but there was a clear partition separating the different genders.

hayden looked around and and started at his empty cabin.

"i guess we're early, so let's call dips!" lilia screamed in joy.

the trio placed their belongings on the beds that they picked and started unpacking. after roughly fifteen minutes, their fun was interrupted with a knock which was then followed by the entrance of a girl and boy.

the duo looked around, unenthusiasticlly. this is going to be a long summer.
