joey was walking towards the cafeteria behind his friend when he felt a tap on his shoulder. he turned around and saw a brunette looking right back at him. joey smiled and started walking beside her instead. "hey um, what's up" he said with a small smile.

"hey, joey right? i'm lexi" she said, putting her hand out for a shake. joey noticed and gave her a side hug instead. "sorry about johnny, he can be really rude at times" she added. jake furrowed his eyebrows at the thought of the infamous westford jerk.

"he really shouldn't be treating you like that' joey told her, while scratching the back of his neck. lexi smiled and nodded her head. "can me and soph sit with your friends for lunch? our friends probably hates us by now" lexi said, pointing towards sophia who was not too far ahead of her.

"sure, the two of you are free to join us" joey said as the pair reached the cafeteria. joey pointed towards his friends who had found themselves a table and the pair walked towards it with sophia who was now beside them.

hayden smiled a little when he saw lexi and sophia approaching them before quickly putting on his straight face. "let me guess, things didn't go quite well in your cabin?" lilia said while looking at lexi and sophia.

the pair, along with jake took a sit with the group. just before sophia could say anything, kenzie threw her hands up in the air. "tell me about it. a guy called us lowlife freaks" kenzie interrupted angrily while chewing on her apple.

"he did not!" annie yelled as she stood up and slammed the table, causing everyone to look at her. her cheeks were a light shade of pink as she blushed shyly before sitting back down.

joey looked at lexi who returned a sad smile. "let's not talk about this, it's probably making them uncomfortable" joey whispered in kenzie's ear. she nodded before looking at the rest with a look. they others understood and quickly dropped the topic.

for the rest of the lunch, the group had the conversation of their life getting to know each other more. they did a good job of including sophia and lexi into the conversation as much as they could.

after what felt like forever, lunch time was finally over and the group had to move on to their first activity which was rock climbing. the group made their way towards the rock climbing wall as they saw johnny, lauren and shawn had already reached the location.

"you're late" lauren said, with an evident frown. "the camp leaders aren't even here yet so i'm pretty sure we're on time" kenzie protested with her hands crossed. "don't ever talk to my sister like that" johnny said, each word coated with disgust.

before kenzie could even digest what she just heard, they were interrupted by a loud whistle. the group turned their heads and were greeted by a enthusiastic tall brunette and an awkward blonde who both had a smile plastered on their faces.

"what's poppin' ladies and gents! i'm hannah and she's emily and we'll be in charge of this first activity, rock climbing. are you guys ready to get your rock on?" hannah yelled with much enthusiasm.

the group gave different responses. some positive and some negatives one. emily sighed and looked at hannah who gave the same reaction. "looks like we'll have a lot of work to do" emily whispered to her friend.

"sounds like a lot of fun" hannah whispered back, with much sarcasm.
