the wild brunch

I bet you're wondering what Gossip Girl is doing up so early. Truth is, I never went to bed. Why waste precious time dreaming when waking life is so much better? Is there really anything better than a lazy Sunday? Reading the paper in bed, sipping coffee. Scrambling an egg or two? Yeah, right. We Upper East Siders don't do lazy. Breakfast is brunch. And it comes with champagne, a dress code and a hundred of our closest friends. And enemies. Chuck's dad, Bart Bass is hosting the annual brunch for his foundation. Everyone is invited. Well, not everyone.

MORNING HAD CREPT into New York City and the events in which had occurred the night before at the Kiss on the Lips still, very much so, lingered on the minds of those who had to endure the presence of those elite. Victoria Humphrey being one of them. And very slowly she was trying to comprehend all that she had seen from the night before. From entering into the party to having all eyes on her alongside Dan and Serena to Chuck Bass trying to force himself on a young girl being the brunette's younger sister who was used for her innocence. There was always expectations that Victoria owned, and Chuck held the lowest, she itched for distance to be maintained not just with the Bass but maybe the rest of them, too.

It was even on her mind to suggest the thought towards Jenny but she did wonder as to how she was to spring it up into conversation, especially when all the young blonde wanted was to be part of that world, have the popularity and most importantly friends. Jenny wanted to fit in and Victoria always knew that but she would rather keep her little sister protected.

Though those thoughts were on her mind heavily, she had just continued to nibble on the skin of her bottom lip as she studied her sister where she occupied a seat at her sewing machine, piecing together yet another fashion masterpiece. Victoria and Dan continuously made sure that Jenny was all right, Dan kept asking the same question are you all right? and Victoria donated her comfort in silence, falling asleep by side of the young teen.

Jenny loved how much her elder siblings cared but they pestered too much and she found it quite annoying.

The forest eyes that Victoria owned glanced every now and then, away from the Vogue magazine she wasn't really invested in, as she had grabbed it strictly out of boredom because she wasn't in her own room.  If she made any movement it would be turning the page of the magazine or pushing her Garamond shaped glasses up on the bridge of her nose that they had slid down.

There was a silence of chatter between the two sisters, neither in the spirit for making conversation that would lead to an awkwardness as one would try and avoid mentioning the night before. That silence had soon been interrupted by the heavy knock that rattled Jenny's bedroom door and announced the presence of a curious buzzcut. "Oh." Dan's head had peeked into the young blonde's bedroom before he had been granted entry. "Hey, you're up."
