Falling For The Player (BWWM)

Chapter One

"Lauren look it's the new guy." Jamies's eyes widen looking past my shoulder. I turn around and see one of the most attractive guys I have ever seen walking down the hallway with a ton of confidence. I couldn't help but notice all the girls taking a good look at the new guy.

His stormy grey eyes capture my attention as he looks back at me. He has a black shirt with a leather jacket on. His jeans hang not too low and is wearing combat boots. And there goes Beverely, clinging onto him. She bats her fake eyelashes at him, but he pays no attention to her and keeps looking at me.

Jamie taps me rapidly and pull my gaze away from him and turn back to her. "Uh, Laur, don't freak out but he's making his way over here." I widen my eyes at her shocked. He stands in front of Jamie blocking my view of her.

"Hey baby girl. I saw you looking at me, maybe we can go to the janitors closet." He winks at me suggestively.

I roll my eyes as a response. "Nah, I don't want anything you already have caught by now. Especially since you've already slept with two girls."

"I didn't have sex for a week, what did you expect?"

"Not a surprise that you're such a pig." I say shaking my head before walking to class with Jamie beside me. We sit in our usual lab table in the back of our science class. Our other close friends Annika and Winter sat on the table in front of us looking more energized than normal.

We met the two of them our freshman year on the first day of school. Winter is the creative one in our friend group, not to mention Annika and Jamie are co-captains of the soccer team. She's also one of the taller one's in our friend group with her being 5'8 which towers over my height. Annika  has a fair skin tone with beautiful blue eyes that compliment her medium length blonde hair. 

Winter is the shy one but until you know her better can talk her face off, yet we all still love her to death. Compared to Annika, she has a caramel skin tone with long curly black hair that goes down to her waist. Winter and I share the same height and big dark brown eyes.

"Hey guys did you see the new hot guy?" Annika asks curiously.

I bang my head on the table and groan as his face reappears in my mind. "Dude he's not even that cute."

Winter looks at me with a frown on her face. "Tell that lie again."

Jamie shrugs her shoulders at me nonchalantly as the late bell rings before we listen to the morning announcements. Our teacher Mr. Rivera walks in a few minutes after and starts his lesson.

The new guy walks into the classroom with Beverly with their clothes on backwards then sits at the table behind us. The girls notice this at the same time I do with curious looks on their faces. Mr. Rivera notices and looks at him behind me. "You are our new student, why don't you tell us your name?"

"Camden." He says smirking at my friends and all of the girls are practically eye raping him. Mr. Rivera continues with his lesson on the plant cell. Instead of taking notes I draw on my paper tuning our teacher out.

I soon fall asleep like usual and wake up by Jamie nudging me to stay awake. The rest of the day goes on like this uneventful. The girls and I meet up to go to our favorite smoothie place and spend the rest of the day there until my mom calls me to come home.

Before I get home I drive Jamie home and lock my car doors after I park in the driveway. The front door opens and my mom drags me into the kitchen with a bright smile on her face.  The resemblance between my mom and I is uncanny. She and I are usually mistaken as sisters since she looks young for her age.

My mom and I share the same bottom half of my face and have similar personalities while I have my father's eyes. However my father and I at the moment are not speaking since he decided to move to Spain and live with his new girlfriend who wasn't the best influence in his life.

"Mom are you okay?" I say with an amused look.

"Yes! I just wanted to tell you that I finally got that book deal that I wanted!" The excitement on my mother's face brings me a smile as she hugs me. She is a writer and always wanted to do something with it.

"I'm so proud of you!"

"Yes but there is something I wanted to talk to you about." My mom sits me down at the kitchen counter while holding my hands.

"Okay, what is it?"

"So the publisher wants to take me on a book tour, but the thing is I can't just take you with me with school and everything. Therefore, I am trusting you to stay here at home for the next 3 months or so."

"By myself?"

"Actually I already talked to Jamie's mom and she and I have decided for her to stay with you. She will be checking on you from every now and then."

I nod as a response. "When do you leave?"

"Tomorrow morning."
