[Spitfire : Chapter Eighteen]



29 May, 1993

               If Cassie had known what happened to Ginny Weasley, she wouldn't have said all the terrible things the girl had expressed to Cassie to her older brother. In the midsts of dinner all the students were sent back to their dorms, all the students as in everyone besides the red-haired Weasley family. They, on the other hand, were called to the deputy headmistresses office.

    Ginny Weasley had become the next victim of the Chamber of Secrets. Instead of being petrified like everyone else, the girl was taken. A message left in blood by the Heir of Slytherin told everyone the news; who many people still looked towards Harry Potter with fear that he was the culprit. Cassie couldn't help but scoff, why would Harry Potter, a Gryffindor, kidnap his best friends Pureblood little sister under the alias of the Heir of Slytherin?

    Everyone was in a panic, the Purebloods who once thought they were safe were shivering in their trousers writing letters home with the wish to be pulled out of school. Others were mourning over the missing first year, some plain-out sobbing over the girl they had never spoken a word to. Cassie herself didn't know how to feel, she sat on an armchair in the common room with her knees pulled to her chest, her chin resting ontop her kneecap.

    Fiona and Rose sat beside her on the couch, Rose in her own world while she twirled the tip of her wand on the red fabric. Fiona was repeatedly tapping her food, a million thoughts crossing her mind; should she write to her father to bring her home? She couldn't do that, she couldn't leave her friends as well as Kennedy who still laid petrified in the hospital wing as the first human victim of the Heir of Slytherin. Then again, if she didn't go home she might become one of those petrified students, or worse. Fiona Sen could become the new Ginny Weasley.

    Cassie kept glancing guiltily towards the Weasley family, and Harry, who all crowded together in a corner of the common room. She specifically looked towards the twins, not even an hour before she was ranting how terrible he and his twin were to her. He had most likely told his twin about the encounter too, it was like they had to share one single mindset.

    "Do you think Ginny'll be okay?" Fiona asked through the silence, causing Cassie's head to turn to the frowning girl. "She's a sweet girl, I-I really hope she's okay."

    "She'll be okay," Cassie nodded, at least she hoped she was. "the Chamber of Secrets is in Hogwarts, meaning that she has to be in the school still. McGonagall will find her, that woman's ruthless."

    "Y-Yeah, you're right." Fiona agreed, nodding her head along with the assuring statement. "Dumbledore's coming back too, isn't he? I thought I heard a few students talking about it."
