Explaining everything wasn't easy but his father got a straight answer as to why he had been in the hospital. He did seem a bit worried at first when he brought up exactly how a Nogitsune's tail works. But in the end all his dad wanted was for him to be careful with the power. Given the way he is that meant not practical jokes. He could live with that.

On Monday back at school again there was no sign of the twins. They haven't seen them since Friday and it wasn't like them to leave. Both of them were very loyal to Scott and the pack. If for some reason they had to go somewhere they would have said so. And Lydia says she hasn't heard anything from Aiden. They even talked to Danny and he said the same thing. No sign of Ethan.
After school the packs top priority was to find Ethan and Aiden. They split up and searched the whole town but nothing came up. None of them could catch their scent or find any trace of them. For the time being they lived with Derek in the loft. And the other day Derek did go out looking for them but came back empty handed.
They were all getting worried. They all thought or at least hoped everything would go back to normal or at least as close to that as they could get. But even then they knew they could take care of themselves. So a bit of the worry subsided. Where the hell did they go?

The next day is a bit hopeful but again nothing from Ethan and Aiden. Afterwards they just try to go on about the day like any other normal day for them. Just like always Stiles and Malia stay together with their usual after noon of studying. Except Malia felt a bit off with the twins missing. So obviously she couldn't focus as well.
"You're really worried about them aren't you." he says,
She's been staring at the math book for a while now but wasn't really doing anything. He could see that her mind was elsewhere.
"I mean they were great opponents to fight with and I know they weren't exactly the good guys when you first met them." she says,
"Yea but they've worked hard to change their ways."
"I know but it's not like them to leave. Or at least not the way I know them."
"Okay then."
Stiles closes the book and she looks over at him confused.
"You obviously can't concentrate right now so how about we do something else."
"Like?" questions Malia,
"Pack your things." he says,
"Why."
"I'm taking you home."
She did as he asked and packed her things. They went outside and Malia was heading to the garage.
"Um no we're walking."
"It's pretty far." says Malia,
"Then we have plenty of time to talk."
Malia follows him down and he takes her hand. This felt really kind and if she was right this was what couples do. At the begging of the walk they talked about her. And he asked about her life as a coyote. How she lived in the woods and the way she protected herself. To him the story was enlightening and she was just as happy to remember her old days or at least her time in the woods.
