𝑻𝑯𝑬 𝑺𝑲𝒀 seemed sad. She knew it was a childish thing to think, but it was truly all that was swarming in Fash's mind.
The purple it had once been shielded in had long since washed away, leaving a black abyss and a tempest that swirled long in the distance. Not only that but the stars above seemed closer and the moon seemed fuller as if Geb and Nut were reuniting-- a somber reunion that slowed time and made the heavens sag.
Did she really want to be a pro hero if every victory would bring such regretful thoughts?
"You two are good to go home if that's what you'd prefer. Your parents are on their way."
Fash blinked away the mist and looked towards the police officer. He waved the paramedic attending to her scrapes away and loomed over her, his figure washed out by the holy light of the ambulance she sat on the back of.
She didn't have any words for him. Her head pounded with how many times she had hit it today.
Chayse, however, was always the loudmouth. She let out a small hiss as she poked at her raw knuckles before spouting out her questions. "We technically live in the dorms, wouldn't it--"
"Your school has been informed, they approved it all."
"You guys aren't gonna force us to go to the hospital?"
"Uravity and Red Riot were taken because they were unresponsive. If you request more treatment I'd happily take you but rest is what's going to help you most now."
"We aren't gonna get in trouble for all of this right?"
"With the police? No. Each of you has your provisional license. I can't speak for your teachers, though."
"And what about her?"
The officer's answer was not immediate this time. He even seemed to flinch nervously under Chayse's questioning gaze, glancing to Fash who was fully attentive and waiting for a response as well. He wasn't sure he'd ever seen heroes so interested in a villain they had so clearly defeated.
"Look, kids, I don't know how much I can tell you. It could be confidential considering the scale and coordination of this attack. It could be connected to the League for all we know, and we can't have the public freaking out about that."
